Detroit has filed for bankruptcy. Is this a new trend?

We did our home teaching and activation in the neighborhoods just across from Belle Isle. In some respects, it was hard to believe that we were still in America. Just sad."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

Sounds like they're ready for some CHUDS to fill the vacuum.

Well, yeah, but they weren't taken by some guy that I know of because of a message board on the internet. Your photos would have more credibility of sorts.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostYou can use google images just as well as I can!"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

I have no idea how to post personal photos. Only photos I've posted here have been from google images. And I'm not sure I took many other than of the ballpark.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostWell, yeah, but they weren't taken by some guy that I know of because of a message board on the internet. Grantland's Rembert Browne visits Detroit. It's a good writeup.

On the whole, I don't think this country wants Detroit to make it. It sounds maniacal, but I truly believe that. We've made our peace with this still-great city firmly existing in the land of "once-great." This has been especially true since news of bankruptcy threw the city's woes on the front page of every major publication. These pieces were specific on the details of Detroit's dire economic situation, but they were operating from a distance. Highlighting the very real flaws, leaving no room for the imagination to assume positivity. They rarely acknowledged the chance of a bounce-back.

“People kept leaving, but City Hall never downsized as we dropped off. Once jobs are created, they are hard to get rid of,” Rago said.http://www.detroitnews.com/article/2...#ixzz2gn9oZDnb“I wouldn’t say the decline was inevitable,” said Bettie Buss, a former budget analyst who worked for the city from 1969 to 1986. “Other manufacturing cities were able to pivot to a new economic base, but the longer you let things go and don’t make the hard decisions, it became inevitable.”Last edited by Pelado; 10-04-2013, 02:46 PM."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"
