Asiana Airlines is suing KTVU for defamation for broadcasting the four phony pilot names, and has chosen not to sue the NTSB for confirming KTVU's bogus story. I'm surprised the airline would do this, as it merely perpetuates an embarrassing story and will do absolutely nothing to restore the airline's rep. Moreover, while KTVU was monumentally stupid, that doesn't approach malice which I assume would have to be proven for Asiana to win. In any case, the damages done by KTVU's screw-up can't possibly approach the level of damage caused by Asiana's own pilots.Comment
