I seem to remember when Trump wanted to send National Guard to the border several governors said not from their state, and that was it.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View PostWhenever I have federal orders, it says "with consent of the governor..." Federalization refers to Title 10 orders in support of contingency operations that have been authorized by Congress. I'm not positive what the President can do with respect to the National Guard without any specific congressional authority already in place. He can probably call us up for 60 days.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostIf the President "federalizes" the National Guard for a war or official national emergency, he can overrule a governor. To go along with that, my Title 10 order when I went to Iraq did not have those same words "with the consent of the Governor of Utah", where my current Title 32 orders do say that.
If push comes to shove, it's a constitutional crisis no matter how you slice it.

Yeah, the one we had in Utah was a joke. It's an interesting concept, but I doubt that any state will spend the money to make them serviceable or even "well regulated", at least not in the near future. Perhaps if we moved away from the behemoth centralized government we have at the federal level things would change.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostThere are also the existence of “state guards” which are under no federal control whatsoever. About half the states have them. Seems like they are there for disaster reasons and I’m not sure if they are armed although I suppose they could be if needed.

Yes. [...]
While watching the video of innocents being mowed down, MSNBC reporter Kerry Sanders admitted that because everyday Venezuelan citizens are not allowed to own firearms, they're defenseless against the government. The Washington Free Beacon pulled the clip.
"You have to understand, in Venezuela gun ownership is not something that's open to everybody. So if the military have the guns, they have the power and as long as Nicolás Maduro controls the military, he controls the country," Sanders said, watching in horror.
I am so glad we don't have worry about this in our country... We might as well just turn in all our guns because we can trust that Drumpf would never do something like this to the people of this great country.

On the other hand, all those rednecks and mild-mannered citizens with guns could probably take on the U.S. military no problem if it ever got out of hand..."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

They take care of ecology. Is it bad? I only ride my bike because I feel sorry for our planet. The ozone layer is getting weaker every year. Unfortunately, I haven't saved up enough money to buy an electric car yet, but I have such plans. I invest in cryptocurrency. I believe that in a few years these investments will float themselves. That's when I can change cryptocurrency for dollars here https://switchere.com/exchange/btc-to-eth and make my dreams come true.Last edited by jieiks; 02-03-2021, 09:42 AM.

Oil is going to destroy this planet, just not through climate change"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
