This will be a great humblebrag thread.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Mine will likely go up a bit, oddly. We've moved to New York in the past two weeks, and even with city taxes my outlay will be lower, as the income tax brackets in North Carolina are tiered much lower than in New York. Even with additional SS withholding I'll take home a bit more as a result.

A combination of factors have my bi-weekly $130 lower than before.

My net pay is down 3.4%, but about half of that is due to raising the pre-tax deposit into my health FSA.

Worrying about marginal pay decrease is so proletarian.

Your total withholding is lower? We are looking at an opportunity in NYC right now but even with a very signicant cost of living raise the city tax is brutal.

Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

You got me thinking. The increase in FICA is just back to pre recession days. As Obama has told us, the recession is over and that is why we can also raise Income taxes.

Basically we are all being told we "have" to get back to funding our retirement, social security.

While thinking I came up with something I see as funny. I am saying funny because I don't want to get cranky.

Because I am working and paying for Insurance I do not use medicare or medicaid although I qualify for it. Nevertheless I still pay into the system. I pay on both private and government but only collect on the private if I get ill.

That got me thinking about payroll taxes. This year along with the company match I will pay $16,500 into the system. I think the amount paid into the medicaid medicare part will be about $4,000 depending on what the % is I pay.

                        That is about $19,500.

I qualify for full retirement benefits. I have decided to take them. The amount I will recieve after paying income tax on it will be about $21,000.

                        Pretty humorous huh.

Congratulations! You're one of the 2%! Because Obama would never lie about anyone other than the rich having to pay more taxes.

Obama gets a pass on this as far as I am concerned. The republicans wanted to get this back to pre-recession numbers as much as Obama.
