  • Why is the government ok with the Lottery and Card Gaming but not sports?

New Jersey passed a law earlier in the year making Sports gambling legal (to the feds its still illegal). What is the big deal? Governments will readily accept your $2 lottery (in fact they advertise scratch offs as a great stocking stuffer!) bet or you can drive to the new casinos downtown anytime but placing $5 bet on an NFL game is somehow wrong?

A new survey says sports gambling now as a majority in favor of it being legal.

    Why the hypocrisy?

The reason is because of the issues with point shaving.
