It's really weird that the dems aren't behind this.

I guess they are okay with drone strikes on Americans on American soil . Doesn't seem like a winning argument in any debate....unless you are at the controls of an armed drone.

Remember Surfah, it's only wrong when a conservative/Republican does it.

            • Holder just sent a letter to Senator Paul that US Citizens cannot be killed by drones on US soil unless they are engaged in combat.

              This RandStand just won.

              • Not entirely true. Senator Ron Wyden, while a Liberal a pragmatist who seeks for bi-partisan coalitions, came out in support of the RandStand.

                • So, now if they will just define combat, that would be great.

Sheesh. No reason to be combative.

                    • Great recap of events by the National Journal.

Texts and e-mail had continued over the course of the evening between Benton, McConnell’s chief of staff, Josh Holmes, and Paul’s chief of staff, Doug Stafford. At about 10:30 p.m., McConnell was at home toggling between a basketball game and C-SPAN. Soon, McConnell let his staff know that he was on the way to the Capitol.
Around midnight, McConnell heaped praise on the “tenacity, conviction” and “extraordinary effort” of his fellow Kentuckian. Just as important, he threw his weight, procedurally, behind the effort, announcing he would support a 60-vote threshold for the nomination until Paul’s questions were answered. At 12:39 a.m., Paul and his swollen bladder called it a night after nearly 13 straight hours on the floor.

                        • Time to turn eyes to Massachusetts for the special election to fill John Kerry's vacant seat. The D's are putting up longtime Congressman Ed Markey and the GOP has former Navy SEAL Gabriel Gomez. If Gomez is elected then it will make three high-profile, first-term Hispanic GOP Senators (Cruz and Rubio being the other two). I don't have much confidence he'll win, but I'd love to see it.

Gomez has no chance unless Obama tries to push through some crazy legislation and one vote is what matters between the senate having a super majority behind the legislation.....oh and Gomez also has to own a truck.
