Now Ron Johnson (R) Wisconsin gives it a go. This makes 14 Senators participating (14% of the Senate).

Finally somebody mentions dinner with Obama (Johnson). This makes 3 filibuster participating Senators who had dinner with Obama.

Ron Johnson, R from Wisconsin, now railing about the Senate's failure to pass the House's bills or pass a budget. Yeah, there's a lot of venting going on tonight. (I wonder if Paul is a little peeved at this question, which is quite distinct from the drones issue.)

He is probably more peeved at Rubio for identifying Jay Z as a great modern-day poet.

Now DeMint replacement Tim Scott (R) South Carolina gets in on the game. This makes 15 Senators who have participated in the filibuster (15% of the Senate).

He mentioned a bunch of locations in South Carolina, but no Hartsville.

                  The second BYU alum participates.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Now it's Jeff Flake who gets to ask a question! This makes 16 Senators (16% of the Senate). It also brings up the participating Mormons total to 3 if you include Rubio. If not, then it's only 2 Mormons who have participated in the filibuster. It also brings the BYU grads who are participating total up to 2. There are no Utah grads who have participated.

Hatch is so lucky he's not facing an election any time soon. He'd be pummeled for not participating.

Another fun fact. That was Tim Scott's first speech on the Senate floor. That makes the second first speech on the Senate floor that has occurred during this filibuster.

What percentage of the Senate are filibuster-participating BYU grads?

I'm wondering if your percentages should be including our esteemed Vice President. Can we get a ruling from the board Parliamentarian? If the ruling is yes I would like you to update the percentages.
