It is the 177th anniversary of the Alamo. That's what folks from Texas do...

"Remember my boys, you are fighting for Texas and your loved ones, to avenge the inhuman butchery of your friends and comrades at the Alamo and at Goliad! The spirits of these brave men call to us for revenge. Remember your wives and little children who are now in flight to escape the fury of the ruthless invaders; the redbanded war lord, Santa Anna, having boasted be would pursue and annihilate the rebel Texans and then wash his hands of their blood in the Sabine. The time and the situation is here and we will win if everyone does his duty. We must win or die. Let us fight fast and hard."

"I honestly believe saying someone is a smart lawyer is damning with faint praise. The smartest people become engineers and scientists." -SU.

HE'S STILL GOING! I checked out when John Cornyn (R) Texas stepped in. Not intentionally, mind you. I had to step away for dinner.

The most amazing thing about this filibuster is that he's stayed laser focused on the topic at hand. No phone book reading or song singing. Just use of weaponized drones in United States territory. He's almost at 9 hours without taking a leak or sitting down and still going strong.

Yep, he's tearing it up. Constitutional rights are apparently pretty important to him.

Mike Lee just made an interesting observation about the color of paper. Why is it called a "white" paper? Legal analysis typically isn't done on orange or green paper. So why specify that the paper is white?
