No, Trump won because of the Comey letter. It wasn't the Ruskies and the wikileak letters. That stuff was out for a while. We learned that the Dems are a bunch of satan worshippers and don't know jack about computer security but we already knew that. It was the Comey letter and its timing of it that push Trump over Clinton in the end.

I looked up who all voted for Comey... Guess who was the only one not to vote for him in the senate. Yes, the Libertarian Rand Paul. Let that sink in... The next you go to the polls remember who screwed over Clinton and gave us Trump. Remember that a Libertarian was the lone dissenter in his confirmation. Yet another reason to vote Libertarian.

Can we please once and for all stop with these single-cause explanations?

There was one thing that Hillary Clinton could have done so that the Comey letter didn't come out 10 days before the election -- she could have conducted her affairs in a way so there wasn't an FBI investigation in the first place. But she didn't want to have all her emails a matter of record -- and the reasons are obvious.

The Obama DoJ should have indicted her -- she more than deserved it -- and let her make a Petraeus plea deal. She wouldn't have gotten the nomination and either Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden would have been the president-elect instead of Trump.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Hillary recognized that the private email server thing was a stupid thing to do and said she was sorry... You should learn to forgive.

                • What did they do to Piers Morgan? He use to be such a funny English Liberal.

Hillary and the hypocritical Democrats aren't defending American democracy from foreign meddling, they are a clear and present danger to it

Cast your minds back to a few weeks before the US election.
Republican nominee Donald Trump repeatedly stated to anyone who would listen that the system was ‘rigged’ against him so he would lose and therefore, he might challenge the result.
The response from Democrats, and much of the media, was instant and furious as they raced to denounce this ‘unprecedented’ attack on democracy.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign went even further, branding Trump ‘un-American’.
Of course, at that stage, the Clinton camp all assumed their candidate was going to win.
It never crossed their elitist, arrogant, superior minds that Trump, a man they perceived to be an ignorant, unelectable Neanderthal, had a cat-in-hell’s chance of beating the woman dubbed ‘the most qualified candidate in history’ by President Obama.
Then Trump sensationally triumphed, sparking weeks of Biblical scale weeping and wailing from those who opposed him.
Their deluded, defiant, sore loser fury has known no bounds.
Indeed, it has now escalated in its intensity and desperation.
‘But Hillary won the popular vote!’ they first shrieked, meaninglessly. As everyone with half a brain knows, the US general election is not and never has been decided by popular vote. If it were, then campaigning would be done in a very different way.
‘The election results were fixed!’ they then bellowed, as Green loser Jill Stein launched a pathetic evidence-devoid bid, backed by Clinton’s campaign, to demand recounts in three states. Her lamentable action was thrown out by judges in Pennsylvania and Michigan. And in Wisconsin, the only state where there’s been a full recount, Trump’s lead actually increased!
Now, the Clinton camp’s launched one final, breathtakingly stupid and highly dangerous Hail Mary pass.
In an astonishing development, Hillary’s campaign chairman John Podesta has publicly endorsed an attempted coup by members of the Electoral College to try to overturn the election result next week.
Ten members of the College have made a formal request to the Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, to supply more information on the relationship between Trump and Russia before they finalise their votes on December 19.
They said they are doing so to ‘investigate, discuss and deliberate with our colleagues about whom to vote for in the election’ and to help them decide if Trump is ‘fit to serve as President of the United States.’
Podesta, on behalf of Clinton, has supported their move, claiming that Russia intervened in the election to Trump’s benefit by hacking into Democrat emails, including his own, and leaking them to Wikileaks who then posted them.

                  [...]

But what if it IS true?
Say the Russians did target Democrats’ emails, and gave them to Julian Assange’s vociferously anti-Clinton team to deliberately influence the election.
                  a) It would hardly be a great surprise and b) whose fault would that be?
I’d say the fault of the CIA, FBI and every other US intelligence agency charged with preventing such hacking from occurring.
They all knew about the massive threat of an online attack during this election.

                  [...]

What we are witnessing now with the Electoral College is an equally sinister attempt to tamper with the will of the people.
It’s also just as disgustingly hypocritical.
Hillary Clinton lost fair and square on November 8 and there is zero concrete evidence to suggest otherwise.
Rather than take her defeat with good grace, she has tried everything to get the result changed.
Now she is targeting the very cornerstone of American democracy, using spurious allegations about unproven Russian hacking to persuade members of the Electoral College to change the votes they are supposed to automatically cast to reflect the votes of their individual state electorate.
As the Democrats berated Trump when he said he might not accept the result: this is not just an unprecedented and dangerous attack on democracy, it’s profoundly un-American.

                        To answer my own question...

Harvard professor says GOP electors are close to blocking Trump win

Harvard University law professor Larry Lessig said Tuesday that 20 Republican Electoral College voters are considering flipping to vote against Donald Trump, more than half the number of anti-Trump votes needed to stall the president-elect from being sworn into office.

"Obviously, whether an elector ultimately votes his or her conscience will depend in part upon whether there are enough doing the same. We now believe there are more than half the number needed to change the result seriously considering making that vote," Lessig told Politico.

Lessig has been offering free legal counsel to "faithless electors" who are considering casting a ballot for an alternative candidate as opposed to Trump, who earned 306 votes on Election Day, well above the necessary 270.

According to Politico's report, 20 Republican electors have contacted Lessig's group about voting against Trump.

Electors will cast their ballots on Dec. 19.

If anti-Trump electors manage to whip up enough votes against him, the decision would then go to the GOP-controlled House.

So if the Dems can get enough electors to vote against their state's popular vote and flip the election then it goes the the republican controlled house who will vote for Hillary for some reason. Maybe it is so they can later impeach her. Yep, sounds like a good plan to me.

Kind of hoping it happens just for entertainment value. Would be a perfect ending to this election.

Yes, it wouldn't change the outcome one bit.

It would definitely be fun to see the Lena Dunhams of the world get all breathless with the possibility of one last avenue to a Hillary victory, only to have reality smack them in the face again and send them spiraling back into their public fits of angst.

But what is the House permitted to do if it goes to them? I recall hearing that they had to choose someone who got some threshold number of EC votes. In other words, they can't go out and hand it Sheriff Joe Arpaio (bummer). What are the odds they select anyone other than Donald J. Trump?
