That's the whole point. The polls were shit. We all should have listened to HFN. Trump would have done to Romney what he did to every other R candidate. He would have given him a not-so-catchy but pretty accurate nickname and Trump and the WWC would have run him off the ticket.

Yes, it is good that someone could do the math and tell me that the squeaky-clean, mormon bishop who was oh-so-close to the White House was more popular with Utahns than a thrice-divorced sod from New York City. A great example of using numbers to prove the most obvious of points.

I keep scratching my head over this post. What exactly is your point? Whether they were voting for a fellow mormon or not, a significant number rallied around a non-Trump candidate. The fact that he is a squeaky-clean mormon does not invalidate that point one iota. Good for Utah for producing a palatable alternative. Bottom line is that Trump won Utah with only 46% of the vote. 74% of registered voters either stayed away from the polls, or voted for someone else.

Meanwhile, you are high-fiving yourself because the DC voters went 94% for HRC. Your implication is that unlike those hypocritical mormons, these DC folks have character! But of course you and I both know that a 94% outcome in DC is probably even more of a blindly partisan outcome than anything Utah has ever done. The republican party could have run a resurrected Abe Lincoln for president and DC would have still voted party line. Don't kid yourself.

Interesting to watch things morph in this thread. Over the past year we started out universally mocking the idea of Trump mounting a serious campaign. Then we shook our head as he kept picking up steam, and finally we watched in horror as he captured the nomination. But now the closer we get to the election, more and more posters are starting to argue how Hillary is either worse, or "just as bad" and we witness more and more Trump apologetics and even outright mocking of criticism of Trump. This is how it happens. This is how otherwise sane people do unthinkable things.

God help us, Trump may actually win.

There is a huge melt down protest going on here in Cali as well. These protesters need to take out their frustration on the DNC. They are the ones that rigged the primary so no one besides Bernie would dare to run against Queen Hillary. If you look at the wikileaks it seems they even had to blackmailed Bernie to make him lose to Hill.

Donna Brazile: I’m only sorry I got caught cheating with debate questions

Donna Brazile, the interim chair of the Democratic National Committee, is not only refusing to apologize for giving debate questions to candidate Hillary Clinton. She’s also saying she would do it again if given the opportunity.


“My conscience — as an activist, a strategist — is very clear,” she said in an interview with talk-radio host Joe Madison that aired on Monday.


Brazile argued she was simply doing her job as a strategist to know what questions the debate moderators might pose: “You’re doggone right I’m gonna talk to everybody. Joe, I will never go out on TV or go on radio without the facts. I will ask. I will submit things. I will circulate things. And guess what? I also enjoy the exchange that I have with my colleagues.”

The far-from-contrite political veteran also recycled her discredited claims that the hacked emails that exposed her perfidy against presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders were somehow altered by Russian intelligence agents.


“Had the Republican National Committee been hacked, had the Republican Party’s emails and other assistants been altered and hacked, the country would be in selective outrage if they found out this was from a foreign source,” she argued.


As Salon and others have already demonstrated, regardless of their provenance, the emails that showed Brazile had divulged questions to Clinton officials during the Democratic primaries were not altered.


If there’s one thing that she regrets, Brazile wishes she had been smarter about leaving a digital trail, she said. “If I had to do it all over again, I would know a hell of a lot more about cybersecurity,” she argued.
