I feel like Mormons will never accept the fact that people don't want Mitt to be POTUS. I get the vibe that for the next 3-4 presidential election cycles the cry will go up "why couldn't Mitt have run this time?!"

Damn straight we'll never accept that as fact! I would vote for him today, tomorrow and forever.

I was commenting on how weak the field is this year.

This site is proof of that fact.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                • Hillary won't be prosecuted but she was "extremely careless" in handling classified information...and people will vote for her for president? Doesn't the president handle even more classified info than the Secretary of State? If only Trump weren't her main competition

Yes she's obviously guilty but what were you expecting? Once Obama endorsed her (and meet with Lynch later that day) what slim chance she'd get prosecuted went to zero. Add on Bill's secret meeting and "people close to Hillary" saying she wants to keep Lynch on as AG there was no chance she would get indicted.

I'd say that about sums it up.

So there's evidence she broke the law, they're not going to prosecute her, but they may prosecute others who do the same thing.

I am sure that is how Fox News will spin it.

Here is the full quote in question:

In looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts. All the cases prosecuted involved some combination of: clearly intentional and willful mishandling of classified information; or vast quantities of materials exposed in such a way as to support an inference of intentional misconduct; or indications of disloyalty to the United States; or efforts to obstruct justice. We do not see those things here.

To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now.

As a result, although the Department of Justice makes final decisions on matters like this, we are expressing to Justice our view that no charges are appropriate in this case.
