And to the one who responded about Trump's previous statements, I agree that they are disconcerting. However, he will need to work with the GOP and the GOP is pro Second Amendment. It is folly to believe we can trust Hillary on anything. She is wrong on all major issues. There is not a single substantive issue on which she is correct in instances where she differs from others. I would sooner become a Ute than vote for Hillary. She is Trumpf's ugly sister. They are twins, but at least there is a chance the GOP can control him to some degree. There is no chance of controlling the mischief of Hillary. I will probably vote Gary Johnson for integrity's sake, but her opportunity to nominate justices scares the hell out of me. The thought of more Justice Ginsebergs makes want to vomit.

In my view, Donald Trump is unfit to be president in ways that apply to no other candidate of the two major political parties throughout American history.

But it’s worse than that. It’s not that Trump makes strategic decisions about what useful untruths he will tell on any given day — it looks as if he just makes up stuff as he goes along. Many of his off-the-cuff fictions are substantively unimportant: He says Rex Ryan won championships when he coached the New York Jets, when he didn’t. No one would care — if it were a one-shot mistake. But it happens repeatedly. Then it gets a little more important, as when he says Paul Ryan called to congratulate him after his victory in the New York primary, announcing a significant political event that in fact did not happen. Then the fictions touch on facts about policy. \

No, Wisconsin does not have an effective unemployment rate of 20 percent, nor does the federal government impose Common Core standards on the states — to take just two examples plucked at random from among his continual misrepresentations of reality. That he deals so heedlessly in those misrepresentations makes it impossible for an opponent to conduct an authentic policy debate with him. It’s one thing when a candidate knowingly deceives the public on a few specific topics. Hillary Clinton has knowingly tried to deceive the public about her flip-flop on gay marriage and her misuse of her e-mail server. That’s bad. It should be condemned. This aspect of her character should affect one’s deliberations about whether to vote for her. It’s another thing entirely when a candidate blithely rejects Pat Moynihan’s (attributed) dictum, “Everyone is entitled to his own opinion but not to his own facts.”

Trump’s indifference to facts is an example of why he is unfit for the presidency — not dispositive in itself, but part of a pattern. That pattern is why “Hillary is even worse” misses the point. P. J. O’Rourke recently announced that he is voting for Clinton. “She’s wrong about absolutely everything,” O’Rourke said. “But she’s wrong within normal parameters!” Similarly, I am saying that Clinton may be unfit to be president, but she’s unfit within normal parameters. Donald Trump is unfit outside normal parameters.

This is what I was referring to:

The report does not focus on Clinton alone. It also found a Republican predecessor, Colin Powell, to have committed similar violations in using personal emails and failing to turn them over to the department.

Powell was interviewed on the topic and he said nothing classified went through his personal emails. The laws relating to the transmission of classified information were in place obviously when Powell was at State, so he was careful not to mix classified information in the emails he sent. The IG also looked into Powell's email usage and there wasn't anything indicating that Powell was lying.

Rice, the first SoS, apparently followed the new rule set up in 2005. John Kerry has also followed it.
Oh, well, that settles that then.

I'm likely voting Libertarian because that candidate is somewhat close to my political views and because he isn't as corrupt as Hillary. I don't care about whether or not my nonvote for Trump is a vote for Hillary or a vote for a liberal Supreme Court. I'm voting for the guy that best represents me whether he or she has any chance at all at being elected.

Also, Hillary won't do jack to the 2nd amendment. If anything, her election alone will increase gun sales to record highs.

          • He makes a poor case for Hillary. She is bad but not the embarrassing type of bad that Trump is?

As noted by Creekster, Trump put out a list of reasonable candidates. That shows he could be tamed. He is horrible and I wish we had almost anybody but him on the ticket, but I can't believe lifelong GOPers would stoop to voting for Hillary. She has been a persona non grata since 1993. She is wrong on every single issue. And she is a deplorable human being.

            • I don't give a shit if Colin Powell or any other previous SoS had done something similar. That's a stupid, stupid argument that only stupid people would fall for or pass along. They are not running for president. Those are/were our emails. They are/were government property and she took control of them and then gave us back what she decided we could have.
              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Have you noticed that she has declared war on the Second Amendment and determined in her infinite wisdom that Heller was decided incorrectly? She is determined by Court stacking to overturn Heller. Is the Second Amendment of no import to you?

                • When you read this, is there any doubt our enemies hacked her server?

Two other emails sent to Abedin were cited in the inspector general's report, but also did not turn up among the emails released by Clinton. Those messages to Abedin contained warnings in January 2011 from an unidentified aide to former President Bill Clinton who said he had to shut down Hillary Clinton's New York-based server because of suspected hacking attacks.

Yeah, anyone supporting that argument isn't very bright. There's also a distinct difference between what Powell did and what Clinton did. It's too bad Biden didn't run

To think that someone can go through their own emails and make a decision on whether or not it should be turned over to the government is absolutely ludicrous. Even if they are trying to be unbiased, they will definitely be biased and do not have adequate skepticism to make those decisions.

He's not making a case for Hillary--he admits that she is "unfit" to be President. But Trump, as JL has said previously, is bad beyond anyone else in history. I still can't believe he's the GOP nominee.

I can see a case for not voting for Clinton.
I can see a case for voting third party.
I can see a case for not voting altogether.
I can see a case for writing in Mitt (has 80% of this board will do).
I can see a case for voting for Hillary.
But I can't, under any circumstances, see any case for a Trump vote.

Murray is a libertarian. His concerns wouldn't be the same as mine. He is a smart guy and certainly makes some valid arguments. Not valid enouogh to have me vote for Hillary over Trump though.
