Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

So yesterday will go down in history as the day when two leading candidates for president engaged in a dick-measuring contest on a nationally-televised debate. Good job, Republicans.
My wife and I found the debate so disconcerting that we turned it off and instead watched a movie about a young woman and her kid trapped in a shed."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I have made it a point to watch none of the debates and to read the summaries on the BBC. That saves loads of dissonance and makes me happier.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostSo yesterday will go down in history as the day when two leading candidates for president engaged in a dick-measuring contest on a nationally-televised debate. That exchange alone should be enough to end anyone's candidacy, but given the insanity of the current race, probably won't matter at all. On the off chance that a Trump supporter (or anyone willing to play devil's advocate) is reading this, I'd welcome an explanation as to why this doesn't disqualify Trump as a candidate.Originally posted by Maximus View Postso you missed the part of where trump said the military would obey his orders of illegally killing innocent people?

Heck with "Trump supporters". I don't think anyone here would cop to that. But I would like to hear a rational explanation how folks here can still rank Trump above other candidates given an endless stream of statements like this. He is a fascist.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostThat exchange alone should be enough to end anyone's candidacy, but given the insanity of the current race, probably won't matter at all. Besides Kasich, I really believe all remaining Democratic and Republican candidates are unfit, inexperienced and incapable of being presidential. It is an embarrassment, based on what I've read. I am grateful to have missed it. It would be wonderful to take the current slate of candidates, and say, "Thank you very much, you're all disqualified, but we're still looking for other candidates who meet the basic qualifications."Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostThat exchange alone should be enough to end anyone's candidacy, but given the insanity of the current race, probably won't matter at all. That was interesting but I didn't figure out from that How Trump Happened.Originally posted by myboynoah View Post
My own opinion was he was a novelty. The press loved him and the ratings they gained. The more outrageous the statements the more the focus on the show and how it didn't matter to his supporters. He got the old momentum.
If the press or even his opponents had scrutinized his statements like they are now, he might have been stopped. His opponents probably tried, but the press was more enamored by his outrageous statements and his 30-35% vote. He should have been exposed.
Trust me, when he comes up against Hillary it will be non stop exposure when it comes to how ludicrous his statements are and they won't let him dance around them as they have in the past.
Go ahead put up the deadhorse thingy. I rank all these candidates above the press in case no one knows how much I think the press as a whole STINKS!

You guys need to calm down. Here's what's shaping up: HC will drub whoever the Republicans nominate, and we'll have essentially the same president as we've had continuously since Reagan. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Also, how can Mitt have done anything other than help Trump. Apparently Trump's supporters like him because he's not someone like Mitt. Every time someone from the Republican heartland excoriates Trump he gets stronger.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostThat exchange alone should be enough to end anyone's candidacy, but given the insanity of the current race, probably won't matter at all. He didnt help trump increase the number of his supporters, but he helped HRC. He may have helped solidify Trump's current support. But Romney isnt stupid, he knows how that works, I think he feels so strongly about trump that if his efforts assist in putting HRC in the white house, so be it. Anyone but Trump.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostAlso, how can Mitt have done anything other than help Trump. Apparently Trump's supporters like him because he's not someone like Mitt. Romney wasn't talking to Trump supporters. He was trying to drum up some money from the big donors to give to the other candidates so they can drag this thing out to the convention.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostAlso, how can Mitt have done anything other than help Trump. Exactly, those who say he is helping Trump are just repeating what they hear on TV. No one but Trump is going to dissaude his 30-35% core who are loyal for who know what reason to vote for another candidate.Originally posted by BlueK View PostRomney wasn't talking to Trump supporters. However, Romney just may have persuaded those who were on the fence or leaning toward Trump to think again. I think a poll said only 14% would change their minds because of what Romney said. 14% is a little less than half of the votes Trump is getting and everyone getting all excited about him doing so.
This bull crap about the establishment is just that, bull crap. Again I ask anyone who thinks the republicans in congress let us down like Hannity, Rush, Beck and their ilks do, tell me what a Beck Senate majority leader and Hannity Speaker of the house would have accomplished. To those saying the republican congress let us down answer that quetions or STFU.
