so you're saying Trump doesn't scapegoat foreigners for our problems or stir up anger against other countries?

I'm saying a lot of people on Facebook would latch on to this, and take it to the extreme, unlike JL's disclaimer at the end.

I can't begin to tell you how depressed I feel about our prospects this election so far. Worst field in my memory.

The field was great. The outcome, on the other hand. . . .

I actually tend to doubt that because the type of people on Facebook who would do that are the same type of people who are supporting Trump. If anything, you'd get a Facebook firestorm in the opposite direction expressing outrage at this "unfair" attack on Trump, and/or justifying the very points JL is making.

Hey! That is a great idea. Let's put this on a meme with comic sans font and see what happens.

You don't get the concept of troll bait.

Mitt decides to go Harry Reid on Trump...

Mitt Romney warned Wednesday that Donald Trump's tax returns could contain a "bombshell" in a biting attack that hinted at clear signs of alarm in the Republican establishment at the billionaire's tightening grip on the party's presidential race.

"We have good reason to believe that there's a bombshell in Donald Trump's taxes," Romney told Fox News, and also called on the top anti-Trump contenders Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio to disclose their tax information as well.

"Either he's not anywhere near as wealthy as he says he is, or he hasn't been paying taxes we would expect him to pay or perhaps he hasn't been giving money to vets or to the disabled like he's been telling us he's been doing," Romney added.
I think Mitt was foolish to come out with this, but I agree with him that the Donald's return will almost certainly contain surprises that his opponent(s) will be able to exploit. I suspect we won't see the return unless and until Trump has the nomination locked up.

While I don't think it's a good look for Mitt to be calling for tax returns, I think the way it was put was to maximize Trump's likelihood of producing the returns.

"Prove to us that you're as rich and charitable as you brag about."

How could Trump turn down that challenge?

I like that he did it too. But I think he felt free to do it precisely because he will NOT run and he knows it. Trump will probably respond with a boatload of bluster about not caring what mitt the loser thinks and that he has more votes now than Mitt did in 2012 and so forth. But I have no doubt that his tax returns would include a few choice bits of info.
                              PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Why? I imagine his tax returns are professionally prepared and he has no idea what they mean or why certain aspects are in there. In my limited experience with wealthy people's tax returns, most of them don't understand the returns and merely grumble about how much tax they have to pay, or how much the preparer charged.

I imagine he has some carried interests in there for management fees, and he might have some assets stored offshore in Bermuda which have not been repatriated yet. I imagine we might see some AMT as well. Unless he has been preparing for this well I wager his charitable contributions are not high in percentage to his income. Do you think there will be some 409 issues as well?

"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.
