So I'm watching a partial interview of the woman who said she was groped on the plane in first class by The Dump and she says that he was all over her, like an octopus, and that if he had only stayed up top, then that would have been okay and she would have stayed, but when he went low, that was too much and she went to the back of the plane.

All this talk about Bill Clinton is silly. And it highlights one of my beefs with modern political discourse: whataboutism. Also known as tu quoque. This article does a great job of describing this dumb phenomenon.

I think historically HRC has had more free trade views, which is one of the major things Bernie was trying to slam her for. She moved more protectionist during the campaign. Now she may stay there, but it hasn't really been her general view of trade in the past. Bill of course got NAFTA signed and was a free trader. And Creekster also made what I think is an extremely important distinction. Hillary has never said anything about installing a ridiculous and sure to be disastrous 45% tariff on anything like Trump has. Promising to do things to make it harder for companies to outsource is also protectionist in nature but far less extreme than Trump's tariff would be.

Historically HRC has been all over the map on all sorts of policies. I would be happy if after elected she told the far left to F-off, she really is a Bill Clinton democrat. I had the same hope for Obama and thought all those who were calling him a leftie were wrong. I was wrong to listen to those who had him as more moderate democrat. Is there such a thing as a Clinton (Bill) democrat anymore?

I don't worry about her reacting to a tweet from a foreign leader though. Trump who knows.

Of course I will be deleting any and all posts in which I may have said something negative about her. I don't need the IRS in my back pocket every year.

I think Hillary wins and the GOP holds the House. It might not be that horrible. I really don't recognize the bleak world Trump says I live in where my life sucks and it's mostly the fault of the Mexicans. Sorry if that misconstrues his message, but that's what screams in my ears when he talks. I'm pretty sure we can survive four years of Hillary if the Congress doesn't give her a blank check. But if you study the demographics of the House, I find it unlikely to go to the dems given the big lead the GOP has right now and the very large number of gerrymandered districts that have no chance of turning no matter what happens in the presidential race -- for example, my 80 year old GOP congressman who has been there forever and usually runs unopposed.

I think in the districts that could conceivably go either way, are swing districts because there are more independents, college educated and moderates in those districts. Having a congressman who ties himself to closely to Trump in districts like that would actually be more likely to lose. That's why Paul Ryan after looking at everything made the decision to tell everyone just to do whatever they wanted and not feel obligated to promote Trump if they didn't think it would help. It doesn't help in the swing districts -- same reason the recent polls are showing Trump getting killed in the suburbs in states like PA and OH.
