I just can't imagine people going in there on election day and actually voting Trump in.
Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

He gave Obama a big leg up by lending him all those photo ops after that hurricane/storm in NJ during a crucial part of the race in 2012. Kind of a turning point when Romney's campaign stalled after kind of impotently handing out water bottles from a table while Obama gets full coverage touring the state with Christie looking solemn and presidential. F*ck that guy. Again.

He's more than a reality tv star, he's kept a consistently high profile for 30-35 years. Few people can maintain that level of fame for such a long period of time.

Arnold Schwarzenegger became the governor of California with zero experience, and the election wasn't close. People became enamoured with the idea of electing him governor. Schwarzenegger and Trump are both masters at dealing with the media and self-promotion, especially Trump.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

That is the standard belief among "smart people," such as internet tough guys. However, it may surprise you that some sophisticated, non-bigoted, people actually support him as well. We become blind to sectors of society and attribute a lack of intelligence or insight to those people. When people, even smart people lose hope or trust, they grasp at anything. There is a sense of hopelessness among many rank and file persons, who are not political animals, among the GOP. Perhaps a poor analogy, but I remember an interview of a former teacher or musician during the Bosnian War, who by the time war had been raging, had become a sniper killing relentlessly civilians from the other side. He had become so hopeless and damaged that he was willing to do unthinkable things. There are significant sectors within society that feel disenfranchised and willing to do the unthinkable by voting for somebody like Trump.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Nor can I. I listen to Trump and he makes me angry. Not because he is so stupid and annoying, which he is, because I can ignore that. I never watched his stupid TV show, for example, because I think he is so bereft of anything of interest or value. Instead, he makes me angry because he is being accepted and legitimized by the process. Everyone on the debate stage, all the media, and a sizable chunk of the electorate listen to the absolute crap he spews and they accept it, analyze it like it MEANS something and some of them even cheer for it. How can this be? Is this just a huge joke that I am not in on? Surely when push comes to vote and people walk into the booth they look at Trump's name on the ballot and tell themselves that "the campaign was fun but I am going to have to act, think and vote like an adult because we are, after all, talking about the president of the USA, one of the most powerful, if not the single most powerful, positions in the world." Right? Won't that finally happen? What has happened to people? Who is voting for this idiot?
            PLesa excuse the tpyos.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I understand why people are mad, but I don't understand why they think Trump is the answer.
That or a contested convention seems to be our only hope. But Bloomberg ain't comin' over that mountain unless Bernie wins the nomination. And Bernie isn't winning.

Or the FBI renders Hillary as toxic.

I'm not sure an open convention works either. Trump can run as independent in over 40 states if it turns out he doesn't get the nomination at the convention

No, I think at least half of those voting for him only care about yelling, "F YOU!" to the system.

I don't see this happening. There are a bunch of motivated voters out there who have already put Trump on path to win the nomination. They may not be enough to make him win the presidency, but they will be voting on election day.

One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

                              • Frankly I don't see that much difference between Trump and most politicians. Most flip-flop like crazy, say whatever will get the most votes, and lie like crazy. The truth is no one knows what Trump will do in the Presidency because at different times he's staked out conflicting positions. Seriously the guy is the enigma candidate.

I will not vote for Trump in a primary but would consider him over Hilary. I see a Trump presidency going one of two ways: 1. Nothing gets done because of the gridlock he causes. 2. He will be the greatest Eff You president since Reagan and actually get something done with some out of the box thinking and the ability to straddle the center and bring the right and left together.

Trump appeals to a wide range of people simply because he isn't afraid to do what he wants.
