He's not my choice, but I'd think that a bit of honesty in an attempt to denigrate him isn't too much to ask. For instance, if I wanted to do my impersonation of Obama without a teleprompter, I'd write "ummm....uuhh...ummm...let me be clear...umm...uuhh." That is based in what Obama has actually said.
I don't find any of the Democrats appealing because there economic, foreign relations, and judicial philosophies are unappealing. I do not listen to any of them and prefer to read what they say as opposed to listen. It takes too much time to listen and i can read a speech much more quickly than listen to it.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

    • Very weird convergence of Trump's intransigence and Carson's stupidity. Trump won't back down from his claim of personally seeing 'thousands' of New Jersians cheering at 9/11. And instead of letting the media focus all their criticism on Trump, Carson jumps in and yells, 'me too!'. At least that's what it looks like; he said he saw 'newsreels' of the event.

Most of us have been wrong about Trump for months, but could this be the beginning of the end? I assume he'll always have diehard fans, but maybe the less insane will now stop supporting him. I would also
like the rest of the Republican primary voters to get serious and stop supporting Carson.

I honestly wonder if Ben Carson has dementia or something -- his statements are so bizarre for somebody who was once a really smart guy. Why on earth does Carson back Trump up on something so stupid and verifiaby incorrect?

"I saw the film of it, yes," he said. Asked what kind of film, he said: "The news reels."

"You know there are going to be people who respond inappropriately to virtually everything," Carson said. "I think that was an inappropriate response. I don't know if on the basis of that you can say all Muslims are bad people. I really think that would be a stretch."
Seriously I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if 3-5 years from now Ben Carson is announced to have frontotemporal dementia or something. Seems like the likeliest explanation for his constant weird statements.

Can you believe the three leading candidates right now are someone who should be indicted for obstruction of justice, another who may have dementia and then a buffoon like Donald Trump who has filed for bankruptcy 3-4 times.

I refuse to believe that when the chips are down, the GOP primary voters are going for Trump or Carson. Nevertheless, that seems like it could happen. Pat Buchanan won New Hampshire in 1996.

Who could have also believed that Ted Cruz may emerge as the least scary candidate in the final three in the Republican primary. Regardless of how disagreeable you might find him, Ted Cruz has run a really solid campaign. There's also a chance in all of this that Cruz isn't really all that scary or actually really isn't as extreme as he lets on -- he's absolutely brilliant and perhaps he's saying and doing what he has to to win the GOP primary. That's the wishful thinking at least.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

          • I'm not trying to defend Trump or Carson, but new stations reported people in the middle east celebrating the news of 9/11. If Trump or Carson had any common sense, they would simply say they misrecollected the news reports of middle eastern celebrations with celebrations supposedly happening in the US. Instead they double down on their claim.

I suppose. Hey, maybe that's why he took a break from campaigning to 'promote his book'! But I think a large part of his boneheaded statements is that he just doesn't think well on his feet. He's not only stumbling on substantive questions; he's whiffing on softballs.

I still don't understand how he got to his current level of popularity. All I can remember is when he mildly rebuked Obama in person at some prayer meeting or something. Other than that, is there anything?

                  • Will this be the beginning of the end for Trump? Probably not.

Completely blows my mind that this buffoon is a front-running presidential candidate. God help us all.

I read Trump's denial the other day that he was singling out that reporter, before watching the video (this is my first time seeing it); it's worse than I even imagined it.

I don't hate Hillary, but I think she is woefully inadequate as a presidential candidate. Hell, Bernie Sanders has more expericence than her. But if Trump ends up as the republican candidate, I will not hesitate to vote for her.

A President is an operation by committee. Trump is my last GOP candidate, but my last GOP candidate is better than Hillary or Sanders.

                              That's pretty extreme.

I keep thinking this is a running SNL skit. No way the country is this unaware, right?
