It will be interesting. It seems to me that any popular vote is going to favor Islamists who want to push for some type of Islamist state. However, there are enough secularists with enough clout (i.e. forcing the end Morsi presidency after a short period) that there is going to have to be some type of compromise to protect non-Islamic groups' rights and interests.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

Old news. We've known that since Stephanopoulos corrected him in an interview in '08.Originally posted by Moliere View Post

Senator Boxer is so stupid. Obviously she picked the wrong experts and now the president looks like a dumbass.Speaking at a Democratic fundraiser less than a month before directing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to impose costly new restrictions on carbon dioxide emissions, Obama said, “we also know that the climate is warming faster than anybody anticipated five or 10 years ago.”
“I don’t have much patience for people who deny climate change,” Obama added.
[...]
During yesterday’s Environment and Public Works hearings, Sen. David Vitter asked a panel of experts, including experts selected by Boxer, “Can any witnesses say they agree with Obama’s statement that warming has accelerated during the past 10 years?”
For several seconds, nobody said a word. Sitting just a few rows behind the expert witnesses, I thought I might have heard a few crickets chirping, but I couldn’t tell for sure. We’ll give Obama the benefit of the doubt and count the crickets in the “maybe” camp.
After several seconds of deafening silence, global warming activist Heidi Cullen, who formerly served as a meteorologist for the Weather Channel, attempted to change the subject. Cullen said our focus should be on longer time periods rather than the 10-year period mentioned by Obama. When pressed, however, she contradicted Obama’s central assertion and said warming has slowed, not accelerated."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Which TV networks do you think this will be shown on. Probably Fox. The President having his head up his butt is a non-event to the others.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Posthttp://www.forbes.com/sites/jamestay...lobal-warming/

Obama says it is time to wind down Fannie and Freddie
Almost five years after taxpayers bailed out mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, President Obama said on Tuesday that it's time for private investors to take a bigger role in the mortgage market.
Fannie and Freddie collapsed in 2008 before being bailed out with almost $200 billion in taxpayer funds.
But with the nation's real estate market on the mend, Obama said in an address in Phoenix on home ownership that it is time to wind down the two companies and make clear that the days of a guaranteed government bailout are over."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

Saw this on facebook today:
One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.
Woot
I believe religion has much inherent good and has born many good fruits.

These right wing fringe groups just muddy the water. Ryan put out an interesting op-ed either last night or this morning. Immediately he was attached by some of these hacks. One of them was that guy they had on CNN all the time who would beat up on Romney. The left has their wacko's but unfortunately they don't seem to get the same coverage.Originally posted by Moliere View Post

Because reasonable people know that when Strom Thurmond voted against the voting rights act he was not being racist as he knew that the VRA would actually pass.Originally posted by byu71 View PostThese right wing fringe groups just muddy the water. LOL I am well aware of the fact that most politicians are hypocrites. As I have voiced numerous times what bugs the heck out of me is our watchdog media. If you watch anything but Fox, does the average guy on the street really know about the democrats hypocrcy, they surely know the republicans.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostBecause reasonable people know that when Strom Thurmond voted against the voting rights act he was not being racist as he knew that the VRA would actually pass.

As a matter of fact a lot of the media equate the hypocricy, lying, manipulating, etc. as attributes of a good politician instead of attributes of a skunk.

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...10-10-10-02-45REPORT: OBAMA BRINGS CHILLING EFFECT ON JOURNALISM
The U.S. government's aggressive prosecution of leaks and efforts to control information are having a chilling effect on journalists and government whistle-blowers, according to a report released Thursday on U.S. press freedoms under the Obama administration.
The Committee to Protect Journalists conducted its first examination of U.S. press freedoms amid the Obama administration's unprecedented number of prosecutions of government sources and seizures of journalists' records. Usually the group focuses on advocating for press freedoms abroad.
Leonard Downie Jr., a former executive editor of The Washington Post, wrote the 30-page analysis entitled "The Obama Administration and the Press." The report notes President Barack Obama came into office pledging an open, transparent government after criticizing the Bush administration's secrecy, "but he has fallen short of his promise."
"In the Obama administration's Washington, government officials are increasingly afraid to talk to the press," wrote Downie, now a journalism professor at Arizona State University. "The administration's war on leaks and other efforts to control information are the most aggressive I've seen since the Nixon administration, when I was one of the editors involved in The Washington Post's investigation of Watergate."
[...]
Oh how I miss when "transparency and the rule of law [were] the touchstones of this presidency"... I am trying to remember when that was.
