It's all a ploy to hold multiple student wards in the UU law schools auditoriums and classrooms. The church is probably coming out ahead on this deal as it will save on building chapels.“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory.”

Very astute and wise investment on behalf of the church.
Just as GBH said the Jazz would be good for Utah and church, even more so for the Uof U. There move into the PAC10 and academic standing gives the church exposure without worrying about ahering to the conservative nature as does BYU.
BYU brings great PR to the church from existing church members. The U will bring interest from non members and potential converts. Those converts will turn into many millions in tithing dollars.Comment

Is there any basis in reality that the Mormon girls who like to wear short dresses and more revealing blouses go to U of U? If so then I suppose this could help in preserving their connection to the Church.Comment

1. A Law School is not a charitable organization. It is probably the opposite. That last thing this country needs is more lawyers.
