That's neat and all, but why?

So we can travel more than 600 miles in a day on scout trips.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostThat's neat and all, but why?"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. There are tons of applications... the mere incidence of accidents decreasing is worth many lives and billions of dollars. Not to mention it will bring down the prices on several items. Lets say you are shipping something from LA to Dayton Ohio. Its gets there faster and if you have programmed gas stops on the way you don't have to pay long haul truckers any more.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostThat's neat and all, but why?"Be a philosopher. So if I need to go to a camp that is 1,000 miles away and this device lets me do that in one day (because it's now safe to drive that far in one day) that is still slower than driving 600 miles in one day, sleeping, then driving 400 miles the next day?Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostBecause the gummint will require the programming to not allow speeding.

I'm against these cars. They will reduce accidents, which will reduce injuries from accidients, which will reduce lawsuits, which will put my kind out of work.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

It's like the time I was reading the Autoliv Form 10-K (they make airbags and car restraints) and they had to discuss why revenues were down for the year. It was partially because of fewer accidents. Talk about having to choose your words wisely.Originally posted by falafel View PostI'm against these cars. I think the best use will be in densely populated metro areas. Carrying capacity of existing freeways could be increased several fold if following distance for reaction time and human error could be eliminated.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostThere are tons of applications... the mere incidence of accidents decreasing is worth many lives and billions of dollars.
