That was precisely the point of his article. They were asked to comment and didn't until President Obama did.Originally posted by Tim View PostI guess they wait until they're asked questions about it to answer. Not sure what's wrong with that. You ask me a question about something, I'll answer it. Do you answer questions before they're asked?
http://www.buzzfeed.com/mckaycoppins...n-trayvon-martBuzzFeed has requested comment from the campaigns of Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Ron Paul — but none have responded, nor have the commented on the case to other media outlets. Romney ignored a reporter who asked Tuesday, "Would your Justice Department get involved in the Trayvon Martin case?"
You asked if it was a political move. Of course it was. They had to keep step with the President on this. I also believe that that Obama's comments were political too. I don't have any issues with what he said. But I don't think it's a reach at all to think that Obama's comments were politically motivated. I think he was also sincere. I agree. But everyone with political hay to make will jump in early. The NYT reported that it was a "white hispanic" who fired the gun. Why would they describe him that way if not to stoke antagonism that might not even be at play here. Then you have Sharpton down there with his predictable circus. Why anyone listen to him in situations like this after the Tawana Brawley fiasco is a mystery to me. And then you have the gun lobby rushing to absolve the shooter before the facts are known.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostI don't know what there is to say about something like this other than to express sympathy. Is the investigation complete?
The only thing that bugs me about what Obama said is the racial component. It reminds me of the Skip Gates arrest. Why insert yourself and muddy the water before the facts are known? I wish after tragedies like this all sides could be patient and await the results of the investigation before passing judgement. I can certainly understand the family pushing for answers, but all the politicians need to be more careful.

You know, in Brazil, adding -ao signifies respect and adulation.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View Postthis is political opportunism at its worst. What a despicable thing for Obamao to say, particularly because he doesn't give a damn about anything other than himself.
Any of his supporters care to defend this?
