There is no evidence that we are in danger of defaulting on our debt. Go ask any investment banker or anyone that deals with bond/commodity markets. This is all a non event. It won't happen. Sure, the deadline is "close" in that it's two weeks away, I'll give you that. But that two week deadline means nothing to anyone right now. Please show me any evidence that any market, investor, or anyone outside of some talking head on cable news thinks we are close to defaulting on our debt."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I am sure you have loaded up on the ETF's that short 10 year treasuries. If you haven't, you might want to look at the rates today, they are dropping. So all those dopes who trade bonds are doing the wrong thing today. Go take advantage of them based on your belief. We may not agree politically, but I would like to see you make a killing of off your knowledge about the debt ceiling and what is going to happen.Originally posted by calicoug View PostWe are close. The debt ceiling is approaching and there is no progress in sight to raise it.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

You are confusing "danger" with "more likely than not." There is a real danger. We are now at 14 days. Citing the market as evidence that something will or will not happen is a bit silly. Unless you think the market is always predictive. It is- until it is reactionary.Originally posted by Moliere View PostThere is no evidence that we are in danger of defaulting on our debt.
