She could also get a job. Condoms are free and birth control is really cheap. About $9 per month. This whole thing is absurd.

The cost of going to G-town for a year can be $50,000. But she is up and arms over G-town's not paying for her $9 birth control? This is the state of liberal America.

In addition to LDS culture's racism problem there is also the misogyny and sexism problem. Current medieval LDS attitudes toward women really ought to enrage people more than the continuing racism, which probably is less destructive partly because so many more women than blacks are LDS. Il Padrino's post reference to her sex life like she's a slut and saying she should find a guy to pay for her contraception if she can't afford it is classic misogyny.

Her testimony elicits comment from the likes of Limbaugh and IP about her sex life because she's a woman. Is anyone here really backward enough to believe that telling people not to have sex if they can't afford contraceptoin is a responsible public policy argument against the proposed law? Were it a man testifying, Il Padrino would not have said these things. You agreed with IP and then added your point.

I have been told BYU's insurance pays for contraceptives. Perhpas that information will soften your heart toward the LDS folks.

Since you appear to be one who would defend Miss Fluke's position, I would ask this question.

Georgetown is a private University. If they have a policy contrary to one's principles, why not choose another University. Unless Georgetown is the only option available to this young lady, I am hard pressed to sympathize with her.

lol. God bless SU. That post is nearly a month old. Seeing as none of the board's non-members condemned it, either, I'd say this problem with sexism and misogyny is not limited to the LDS church. But that's me going out on a limb.

Perhaps he went there because it was the only school that accepted him. It's obvious that it's not very difficult to get accepted.

It is actually a very well-respected law school, especially among the Jesuits and the conservative, religiously minded. If you are looking for a great legal education within the safe confines of Catholic pedagogy, if you are looking for a degree that is shaped by the Jesuit worldview, then G-town is a great option.
