The comment isn't that death is the best place for those kids, but that it is better than the situation they were in. I'm not saying I agree with that position, but we should at least address the statement correctly.

I am addressing the situation. They were at their grandparent's house this morning. They would have been there this evening.

This really isn't that complicated.

If you are a believer, then I'm pretty sure you believe the kids are in Spirit Paradise and on their way to the Celestial Kingdom. So yeah that's a better place than here on earth.

If you are an atheist, then the kids are nowhere and sure that's worse than being at their grandparent's house.

Either way, the people who really deserve our sympathy are Susan's parents and other family members. Hard to imagine how much they have suffered and will continue to suffer.

Also I wonder if Josh's father knew about his son's plan and I hope he goes to prison if he knew anything about it.

It's not complicated. You might have faith that a spirit paradise/celestial kingdom exists. You might believe it exists. But you don't know it does. No one does.

What you DO know is that there was a loving home that their grandparent's provided and that they lived and breathed and had hope for the future there.

Do you think the grandparent's are saying, "at least they are in a better place?" I doubt it. They are probably wishing they were coming home to THEIR place.

Like I said, I know nothing about the case. I'm just imagining the possibility that he was innocent and driven to madness by a system determined to find him guilty. That he exploded his kids would seem to make it more likely that he actually was guilty, but I don't know whether that would justify the assumption of his guilt without evidence.

Yes, as I stated very clearly multiple times, I know nothing about this case. I learned about it from Jay Drew's tweet like 1 minute before seeing this thread. I don't live in Utah, I don't watch the news, and generally don't give a shit about pissing person cases.

They just had the West Valley Chief of Police on Fox 13 news. They introduced him as the former police chief before he corrected them. Maybe they just spoke too soon. I obviously don't know all the details, but I can't help but put some of the blame on the WVC PD. Josh should have been behind bars.

I just saw a hundred threads on this over at CB and had no idea what was going on -- never even heard of the dude. Read the linked article here and apparently this stuff has been happening Puyallup? Guess I should watch the local news more.

The murder of two children is a senseless, awful tragedy. It makes me ill. But a better place be damned, those kids should still be drawing breath.
