If I wanted to, I can donate to that other charity directly and cut out the middleman and the overhead. When a charity gives my money to some other charity I start thinking I am giving to the wrong, lazyass charity.
This is why I have stopped all donations via work or other ways they try and get me to donate..

I find other ways to help/serve. For example. 4 times a year, our EQ cooks meals for the local Rondald McDonald House (RMH) and also work during that same day. If I feel the need to donate, I usually will donate directly to them as our local RMH.. I also look at local food pantry's, and other types of organizations that make a difference at the local level..

I decline all other requests for donations and just tell them I donate to other charities/organizations that are dear to me..

I'm not all about abortions and such, but PP provides services that are vital to low-income areas, including educating on birth control. Maybe if people stopped being so scared of sex education we wouldn't need to constantly be concerned about the STDs and abortions that are so rampant within low-income households.

I think this whole is ridiculous.

They were helping to provide free breast cancer screenings. Probably to younger women, who actually do indeed get breast cancer. They weren't funding abortions. Big difference.

Find a worthy substitute that doesn't slaughter unborn children and everyone is happy.

            About Face!!

The events of this week have been deeply unsettling for our supporters, partners and friends and all of us at Susan G. Komen. We have been distressed at the presumption that the changes made to our funding criteria were done for political reasons or to specifically penalize Planned Parenthood. They were not.

Our original desire was to fulfill our fiduciary duty to our donors by not funding grant applications made by organizations under investigation. We will amend the criteria to make clear that disqualifying investigations must be criminal and conclusive in nature and not political. That is what is right and fair.

I agree with this. Personally I do not think PP is nearly as evil as it's painted.

Agreed. Yes PP provides legal abortions, but they provide a ton of benefits to its patrons that are absolutly vital IMHO. In addition, the money that Komen gives to PP is fairly insignificant to both Komen and PP. All of this seems to be much to do about nothing to me. I am a little confused why someone would stop donating to Komen over this, but I certainly wouldn't tell someone where they should donate their money. It just seems a little but puzzling to me when Komen does so much good.

Poor people don't need breast exams, we need to worry about the middle class!

You have a good point. As an institution, it does a lot of good that completely redeems PP for eviscerating human life.

One day, I hope to see a well-funded orgnanization that offers all the services of PP to the poor, but that doesn't slaughter fetuses.

To be fair, many abortions performed by employees of PP probably conform to the LDS Church's guidelines for when it is acceptable to eviscerate living human babies.

Just because you'd give them for free doesn't mean everyone would.

These abortions are legal. I think your beef is with the Supreme Court and the US legislature. I do understand not being a fan of abortion though.
