  • 2012 political ad thread

We had a thread like this in 2010 and we've waited much too long to roll out a 2012 version. Newt had a great ad today knocking Romney for being goofy. I always picture LAU watching some of these Romney gaffe's and thinking to himself, "what's the big deal? Seems normal enough to me."

lol. "who let the dogs out" never gets old.

I bet LA Ute is pulling his device from his belt holster right now and emailing this link to friends, families, and coworkers that are too embarrassed to ask him to step sending them Mitt Romney stuff.

Newt does have a silver tongue. Any less pursuasive man would have more difficulty coaxing his interns and staffers into his pants.

You know what's funny is.... that's the worst they've got? After the shit hurricane of material that Paul / Romney and Super PACs unleashed on Mitt, these are the worst he can drop on Mitt?

Most of these comments are awkward, some are inadvertently hilarious, a couple are outright embarrassing (the who let the dogs out) - but as a whole, he comes off like a socially stiff guy who doesn't know his generation's idiom. Hardly disqualifying.

Yeah, he basically comes across as a white, Mormon grandfather.

What's the story about the dog in the kennel on top of the car?
                Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

How long does it take to catch Mitt Romney in a lie?

                  14 seconds.

No, when his family went to their vacation summer home, he'd strap his kennel to the top of his station wagon, and the dog would ride in it. Mitt claims the dog loved it and would jump in the kennel. Animal rights folks were not happy.

Romney also said it was "air tight". I'm not buying that. What was it, an old fridge? It might have been protected. And I'm not sure that this is a HUGE difference between strapped on top of the car versus in the back of a truck - so I really don't care. I just found it funny he said it was air tight.

Boring. I thought maybe Mitt had a Clark Griswald moment.

He should have traded it in for a big ole flat screen TV and a Wii. That way everyone is happy.

If you have 30 minutes to spare, I'd recommend you watch the Colbert Report instead of this hack job.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
