Why not? He is good at taking over nursing homes, cutting out bingo time and reducing the amount of healthy food the patients get.
I actually used to like Romney, despite Bain Capital, but he seems so phoney.
I'm a moderately liberal Democrat, so while I want Romney to represent the tribe well, and want him to be treated fairly by the press, I just can't raise my hand to the square and sustain Stake President Romney.
Sounds like he's in your head. Don't worry, there will always be bookkeeping work to do.
I'm not in that line of work.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
I have been predicting that Perry would slide as soon as people started to get to know him better, including party power brokers. But what the Perry saga has shown is that the base is hungry for someone other than Romney who has not been able to get anyone fired up about him in spite of the fact that he has been campaigning for five years.
We are so far from November of next year, but what it is looking like now is that the Republican party is going to nominate the next iteration of Bob Dole or John Kerry and hope that people cast an anti-Obama vote. If that is how this goes down, my prediction is that Romney will front run all summer long but that as the debates unfold and some better economic news comes out, Obama's charisma will carry the day again.
The other thing that could happen is that Chris Christie, who is pretty charismatic himself, could finally be convinced to get in the race, though it will have to be soon. If that happens, it I believe it will eventually be over for Romney. I think Christie could beat Obama.
I voiced my displeasure of an endorsement on a friend's FB page commenting on his link the article from Romney central. Apparently my comment on his FB page also posted on Romney Central, and now I am being bombarded with questions as to why I don't want Huckabee endorsement for Romney.
EDIT: My reasons are as follows: I don't want the endorsement because I don't think he needs it to win the primary, and because it can only hurt him in the General. Also, I don't want Mitt to pander to those who played dirty last go round (i.e. Huck). Also, I hate the christian coalition/religious right and I wish the GOP would distance itself from that body. (I didn't post that last one, but it is definitely how I feel).

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Good thoughts. I don't think Huck's endorsement will really hurt Mitt in the general. Huck and other GOP figures will pretty much fall in line with the party nominee anyways. But otherwise I completely agree.

Like it or not that is the core of the Republican party.

Of course. That doesn't mean I can't (naively) hope that changes, though, right? Starting with Mitt!

I think Christie is going to enter. He is certainly testing the national waters and his recent comments look that way.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

That's a solid ticket. You have Christie's charisma and Romney's financial acuity.
My guess is that they are going to beat each other up to much, assuming Christie gets in, for that to work. Plus, I sort of doubt they would go with two Yankees on the ticket.
