Based on my voting, I must be a pacifist. I'm so confused now.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Iwo Jima is in Arlington.
EDIT: So is Arlington Nat'l Cem for that matter.Last edited by landpoke; 08-22-2011, 06:51 PM.There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. Make it happen.
Tila Tequila and Juggalos, America’s saddest punchline since the South.

Today is Friday, Friday (Partyin’)

Though I didn't vote for it, I like the FDR memorial a lot. It's very pleasant and peaceful.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I voted for my five, but I've also never been to DC. I think we are waiting until the kids are a bit older to make that trip. Maybe in 8 or so years.
IMO, any WWII memorial would pail in comparison to standing on Omaha beach in the morning on Memorial Day....and I don't even have any WWII vets in my family."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

MLK is just about to open. I was curious to see where people would rank it. Also curious to see whether my assessment that the FDR memorial was more or less unnecessary was shared. I think MLK is the most important American of the 20th Century.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostWeird thread.

It being new, I haven't visited yet, but look forward to it someday.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostI don't rank it is most important, but if you visit each of them it has the most powerful effect on you. Even more than Arlington IMO.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

Are any of these memorials "important?" Even if we just assume that they are important, are any of them more important than another? I can't understand how they would be.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
