Sadly, the Internet is the predator's venue of choice today. We need to update our strategies and our laws to stop these offenders who are a mere click away from our children.

To answer your first question, Breitbart allegedly has some more graphic pictures as well as proof that A. Weiner sent some of these naughty tweets to a few 16 year-old girls. That could mean he will face jail time.

On the other hand now that a congressional ethics investigation is being convened, he will be able to hide behind confidentiality.

If Breitbart does indeed have tweets to 16 year-old girls, then count on them to be released next week. He's following his playbook of allowing the lefties the opportunity to do something while he knows in reality they will do nothing and may perhaps start saying "listen, this is simply about sex, no ethics problems here!". Then after doing nothing for a week, he'll release the tweets.

I read these two articles today that help explain just how stupid Weiner was, and how it was almost inevitable that he would be caught, even if he hadn't mistakenly sent his private message (Ha!) publicly. I use Twitter, but not all that much, and never for private conversations, so I hadn't thought of the implications of some of this.

As many of you probably already know, you can send a private messages to someone who you follow, but not someone who you do not follow. The way it worked then, was that a cute young thing would send a public reply to Mr. Weiner, and he would then send a private message to her, which he could since he could follow her. In order to receive a private reply from her; however, he needed to start following her. On Twitter; however, no relationship is completely private, as anyone can see who you follow. So in Weiner's case, he only followed around 200 people, mostly political people, and the occassional unconnected young lady stuck out like a sore thumb. So much so that a conservative group actually noticed it and warned some of the young girls about it months ago. It looks like they were also getting information from some of the girls, and would have exposed Weiner (Ha!) regardless of the mistaken tweet.

So if this was already happening pre-Weiner, you can guarantee that political staffs across the country are now actively researching the follower lists of their political rivals, and political hit teams will be contacting anyone who looks unusual, trying to dig up some dirt.
