    "Surprisingly."

I do love how every time there's negative jobs data rolled out it's reported as "surprising."

It's only surprising to those who actually think the economy is getting better under this administration.

I read a story about how the 1.8 percent GDP growth rate, a decline from fourth quarter 2010 numbers, was due to "harsh weather". Lol, these guys are sounding like realtors circa 2007.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

With the Dow at 12,700 -- up 50% from 2 years ago, it would appear it's probably close to time for another "correction".

You sound like a liberal. You think an administration has the power and responsibility to fix the economy.

I don't think that at all.

I don't think so. I think EPU is simply being consistent, recognizing the brilliance of the Clinton administration as measured by high levels of employment and prosperity.

Those levels weren't reached until after the GOP took control of the House and Senate.

Yes, I give much of the credit to Al Gore for inventing the internet.

...and happened on the back of the rise of computers and the internet.

Spending was cut dramatically through decimating the military plus the tax increases (thanks Clinton and Demos) and prior to selling out US manufacturing to give PNTR to China ("thanks" mostly to Repubs, some Demos) and NAFTA (Repubs, Demos). China will now match/surpass US GDP by 2016.

I realize that. I was just pointing out to DDD that if Clinton had anything to do with it, it was because which party he had to work with. Sheesh.

There is less than unanimous acceptance of the IMF's report on China surpassing the US in 2016. Regardless, the pure numbers eventually favor China over the long haul but it has some challenges ahead of it that could profoundly impact its own "social compact."
