Only insiders have an idea as to how Olbermann's relaunch is doing as Current TV doesn't subscribe to Nielsen.

I suspect, but don't have numbers to support, that Current TV, Link TV, and Free Speech TV are slowly gaining audience. Actual discussion of the lefty variety is going on on these channels and the programming quality is improving. Democracy Now! used to be the only flagship program on Link and FSTV, but the Al Jazeera English programming has strengthened in recent months. Current TV is catering to young liberals and features plenty of audience-crafted programming. If these channels can make it work with their shoestring budgets they have a chance to significantly influence public discourse.
I went to the current rating for all of these type of shows. I was surprised at the low viewership each of these have. We are a country of over 300 million and I realize there are a lot of children and teenagers in that number, but most all of them have viewship under 1 million. O'Reilly was tops at over 3 million. I know that works out great for advertisers, but as far as having an impact on voter thinking?

If that is all most of them are spilling their agenda's to, well I think they are preaching to their own choirs.

That I thought was a pretty low blow toward a fellow member of the faith. He could have said his policies are all wrong except his Obamacare type system he institued in Mass.

However, to go with the flip flop, he doesn't know who he is political crap, I think he should leave to his friends like Anthony Weiner.

Am I dissapointed though, no I am not. If Harry was teaching my HP class, I would get up and walk out.

From what you've posted here in the past, you don't go to HP meeting anyways.

Excellent point. I guess Harry doesn't have to worry about me walking out after all.

It's not like Mitt minced words in '08 re: Reid. He all out threw him under the bus over and over again.

I am strangely intrigued by Huntsman's run. I think he'll fall on his face for skipping Iowa (see, e.g., Rudolph Giuliani in '08...blew off Iowa and never gained any traction), but whatever.

Huntsman is the clear leader among the news media.

Did he question his character or his policies? Maybe he did, I am just wondering.

I don't recall re: character, but definitely his policies. I just remember wincing and thinking, "that 's below the belt."

Shouldn't this have been posted in the "Harry Reid is a worthless, lying, hack" thread?

                          Didn't know there was one.

But hey, who knows. I remember when ESPN started. Lots and lots and lots of Australian Rules Football.
I do not know of it having been done elsewhere on this scale. The approach has been discussed in academic circles for a long time, but Current TV is the first I know of to try and do it.

I don't know, but suspect that Gore is mostly involved on the financing end of things. I suppose he could get involved in big programming decisions.

                            • From ABC on Reid the dickhead and his comment about Romney:

                              http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/201...er-romney.html

I love this paragraph at the end, as it's a big "kiss my ass, Reid" from the Romney camp.

Eric Ferhnstrom, a senior advisor to Romney, tweeted following Reid’s remarks, “In case anyone's confused, Mitt Romney is not seeking Harry Reid's endorsement, nor would he accept it if offered.”

That was rude. How would you feel if Senator Reid referred to you as Il Padrino Ute the dickhead?
