here is an article from RCP that talks about Romney and his "mormonism problem"
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/art...t__110098.html
This article discussing Americian perceptions of Mormonism and how they affect Romney and to a lesser extent Huntsman. It discusses both Mitt and his Father and how they handled the Mormon question and some of the other problems Mitt has with the GOP base.
the jist of the article is that "ya its a problem, but he has bigger problems than that"
This sentence from the article that sums it all up.
If Romney were an Anglican, there would still be a gantlet between him and the presidency.
I may be small, but I'm slow.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Romney now leading Obama among registered voters:

). If the economy is humming along next summer, Obama is back, if not the GOP will be in the WH. Americans vote for their pocketbooks and even this recession is taking money from the poor in the form of reduced social services because of budget constraints.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. Of course it is the economy, my intelligent friend, but what you'll hear from the Obami is that they simply need to do a better job of explaining the President's initiatives to the American people.Originally posted by Moliere View PostIt's the economy stupid! It will most likely come down to unemployment...Originally posted by Moliere View PostIt's the economy stupid! (I'm not calling LA Ute stupid...at least not here

WASHINGTON — No American president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt has won a second term in office when the unemployment rate on Election Day topped 7.2 percent.
Seventeen months before the next election, it is increasingly clear that President Obama must defy that trend to keep his job.
[...]
The latest job numbers, due Friday, are expected to provide new cause for concern. Other indicators suggest the pace of growth is flagging. Weak manufacturing data, a gloomy reading on jobs in advance of Friday’s report and a drop in auto sales led the markets to their worst close since August, and those declines carried over into Asia Thursday.
But the grim reality of widespread unemployment is drawing little response from Washington. The Federal Reserve says it is all but tapped out. There is even less reason to expect Congressional action. Both Democrats and Republicans see clear steps to create jobs, but they are trying to walk in opposite directions and are making little progress."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
"I honestly believe saying someone is a smart lawyer is damning with faint praise. The smartest people become engineers and scientists." -SU.
"Yet I still see wisdom in that which Uncle Ted posts." -creek.

That moment needs to be pretty soon in order to distract attention from the economy.Last edited by LA Ute; 06-07-2011, 11:12 AM.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

2011 is following the same trend from 2010. During the first quarter people are optimistic and then things start dipping again in the second quarter. I do not see unemployment being anywhere close to 7.2% by November 2012. Anyone/anything that has money is holding onto it because either they don't know if the economy is going to head down the shitter again or they don't want to higher any new employees because it costs so damn much and may be getting a helluva lot more expensive.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostPart of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
