When out pressing the flesh in big crowds, campaigners take that approach to reduce hand fatigue, pain and even arthritis. At least that was the explanation I received after my first politician's handshake and asked my dad later why it was so limp. The politician was Vice President Richard Nixon. October 1960.
The Herriman liquor store is a step in the right direction for the DABC stores. It isn't cramped like the other liquor stores, it is nice and bright, and the displays are much better. That being said, it is just absolutely ridiculous to build this nice new liquor store and still not have refrigeration for beer in the location.
Also, it is nice that the higher weight beers coming to stores, but it also ridiculous that there had to be a "compromise" because of LDS church opposition. It would be less of a concern that the liquor stores don't have refrigeration if the original 4.8 alcohol by weight had been passed.

The LDS church represents the largest single group of residents of the state. You think its ridiculous that the majority of Utahns get to have a say in alcohol laws?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

The scare quotes on "compromise" made me laugh.
"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

It isn't a compromise when it is basically entirely dictated and decided by one entity.
That one entity being a majority of residents? Yeah Democracy can be quite one-sided sometimes. Look at the dicknose in the White House who gets to terrorize us for another 15 months unfettered. I didn't ask for this! Stupid swing states.
"I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Not questioning their right to weigh in. It would be nice though if they acknowledged that they basically write the liquor laws in Utah.

I don't live in Utah so I don't follow their liquor laws closely. Is the refrigeration of higher weight beer in stores against the law?
It isn't. A brewery can sell refrigerated high weight beer on site. I'm not aware of anything that specifically restricts the DABC from actually having refrigeration in stores.

other than by not having refrigeration, IPAs get skunky and it can ruin them, thereby making them undrinkable...I see what they are up to.
Russell M. Nelson should stand up and say "We write the liquor laws in this state. You heathens will buy your Satan juice where, when, and how I say."
I actually agree with this.
