To me it just looks like he is trying to move the money from the Bahamas to Nevada. I don't have a problem with this.

Dude, he represents Nevada, not the Mormon church. Do you think that the state of NV wants to widen their hold on profits that come from gambling?

The problem I have with it is that he is pushing it during the lame duck session when there are some more pressing issues on the government's plate right now like extending tax cuts, unemployment benefits, funding the government, etc. Clearly Reid has other (personal) priorities.

I assume you'd say the same thing if Mitt Romney had proposed abortion on demand legislation while he was governor of MA?

On second thought, why deal with hypotheticals - I presume you've never said a negative word about Mitt flip-flopping? Mitt-Care was just what MA voters wanted...

How much of the Mittcare that ended up being passed was a result of the hard left liberals in the Mass. state legislature? My understanding was that the Dems there had enough numbers to overturn any veto that Romney may had tried.

            I ask because I really don't know.

You are correct that I mostly gave Mitt a free pass on his flip-flops. Where I didn't give him a completely free pass was where he tried to explain his shift in policy as a 'come to Jesus' moment where he allegedly changed his mind. Had he simply said that a political representative's job was to balance leadership and representing constituent interests, I would have respected him much more.

Did I ever bring up his religion?? Or is that Robin throwing in his assumption??

I may disagree with as a Mormon, but my issue is with the "Pat my Pack" type legislation this is.. In a time where there are more serious issues then him paying off his casino buddies..

I think Mitt championed health care reform in MA. He sure didn't act like he was forced to go along with it.

Perhaps I just missed it, but have you been calling Hatch a scumbag for continuing to be an entertainment industry puppet?

That's a mean thing to say. I love Orrin and think he's a genuine good guy.
