    2) This family member has been told that the military has a high incidence of suicide, is that accurate?

    3) What would happen if he were to join then quit/ditch out? Do we still hang people from yard arms or something for going AWOL?

    4) This family member is a mama's boy, is the military a good environment to help him break out of that?

Any other advice or input is helpful.
My advice: unless he can count to five better than you can, he should probably skip the military altogether.

I don't think the Air Force counts as a real military organization,
Reville at 7:30, don't have any idea of "To the Colors" is, plus they send their officers off to die, not their enlisted people

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

          Not true...

I have never had a tryst with the Dahm Triplets, but I am pretty sure I know what it would mean.

Good luck. I tried for almost a year and a half to get selected, but much to my interviewer's surprise, I was never selected. Unfortunately, there are 10+ applicants for every open spot, and that makes it really difficult. It'll be awesome if you get selected.

Well, I assure you that you can't know what milquetoast means unless you've been there, brother. We can play semantic games all day, but you will bow to the OED.

Yeah-- I gave up on the foreign service after getting oh-so-close last year and realizing that I wouldn't even use the law degree... We'll see how this goes. I interview pretty well and what not...

After a decade of serving Uncle Sam any damn where he wanted you to be. Night and Day for weeks on end, with little to no sleep at all... eating what's left of an MRE you have been carrying and sitting on for two days...you are dying for some time away with your buddies and a chance to chase some ladies.

More often than not your buddies show up lookin' something like this... and you just know all hell's about to break loose.

                              No kidding

My father tells a story from Viet Nam. When he got there, their base camp was an open field. The Air Force had their E-1s in air condition barracks, while he was still sleeping on the ground in a pup tent. He was a battery commander

That's what I've heard from all of my friends who have served. I really hope you get it--it seems like an awesome job. I'm working on getting in shape to pass the Marine PFT, and I think that once I can do that, I'm going to reapply to all of the branches again.
