Wow, the detective lifts the veil and recognizes her and is a big hero. At least in Utah. In New York and California maybe he is in trouble.

However, he lifts the veil and it isn't Miss Smart, but some muslim and he has violated her rights to worship and he get fired.

This may be the most sordid media scandal ever. I still can't get over my dislike for the Tribune because of it.

It is a sordid matter -- but that ajr article you linked to? Atrocious writing and journalism itself. Have you ever read something so disorganized?

A bad imitation of the New Yorker.

This doesn't have much to do with Smart's tesimony, but have you seen this video of Nancy Grace interviewing Elizabeth?

Nancy Grace is a jerk and tries to bring up the abduction when Elizabeth had agreed to go on the show to talk about new legislation. Pretty impressive response by Elizabeth:

              That is unreal.

Reading her testimony over the past two days is getting to me. I woke up several times last night and checked on my boys to make sure they were ok. I went downstairs to triple check all the doors and windows. The amount of agony this family has gone through, and will continue to go through, is unimaginable. Very proud of the way Elizabeth seems to be overcoming this.

Yes she is. I can't think of anyone on TV I despise more.

How do you all feel about the SL Trib publishing word for word Elizabeth's testimony? If you were her or her parents, would you be okay with it? Are there any privacy laws that prevent information like this (maybe because she was a minor when it happened?) from being reported if the victim chooses?

I have connections with the family (friends of friends). I have been exceptionally impressed with the way she's handled it, both during the ordeal (as we're just learning to some degree) and after.

It strikes me as being perversely voyeuristic.

It wasn't just the Trib. DNews and KSL did it too.

What a great response by E-Smart. You can see that shortly before she drops the hammer, her eyes dart off camera...most likely to her parents or her publicist, as if to say, "wtf is going on here? Why are we talking about this?"

These were stupid questions by Nancy Grace, regardless of the pre-arranged scope of the interview.

"Wow, you wore a burqa. How did you see out of that thing?!?"

"Did you want to call out for help when you heard people searching for you??"

"Did he say he was going to hurt you?"
                            Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

After the crap she has pulled, how does Nancy Grace still have a job? I can't believe people watch that trash.

No doubt. What is her demographic? What is scary is that I am pretty sure I remember seeing a commercial for a new Nancy Grace show ala Judge Judy where she hears cases and renders judgments. Insane.

I'm with JL. I can't think of a person on TV I dislike more.
