Sounds like most reports are saying the levee system around New Orleans and St Bernard Parrish worked as designed. There doesn’t seem to be many reports of flooding in that area. Also hearing that most power is on in Baton Rouge.

there’s definitely a lot of damage from the wind and the coastal cities seem to have been hit very hard by the storm surge, but that happens every time a hurricane come through. Not to make light of it, but those cities aren’t exactly the nicest areas in terms of infrastructure, for various reasons.

only one reported death so far, which is amazing. I’m sure that number will climb as the days go by and more rescue workers can get into places, but this hurricane was as powerful as Katrina when it landed.

Katrina hit NOLA at like a cat 3. If Ida keeps up at a cat 5 it could be bad. If those levees don't hold then it is Drumpf's fault.

No, zero chance. It’s hitting today and tomorrow. We will get some rain and a little wind but next weeks weather is looking fabulous. It’ll be low 70s or high 60s for the late kcikoff and no clouds in the sky. Glad I bought three tickets

We will get some rain over the next few days, but I suspect that had I not known about this hurricane, I would not know it was hurricane-related at all.

Feel free to pray for me anyway if you would like.

I don't think some neighborhoods out there even have power restored from when Laura hit. It's been a crazy hurricane season in the gulf this year.

It would be a real bummer if they had to move the game to Provo like with the LSU game that was moved to Missouri.

Looking at the satellite image, I thought it might affect Houston.

Looks like it'll affect quite a bit of Louisiana. Gonna hit one of the subordinate units I used to work with.
