And the water savings will be even greater when the full fantasy data center buildout doesn't happen. Let's get this going!

Same. I don't like AI for other reasons but gatekeeping it , for me is less about using resources and more about ethical use of it.

I don't mind exporting alfalfa. It is an industry. But data centers are a better, more strategic industry (don't listen to Omaha). And people throwing hysterics about converting ag water to data center water seem incredibly naive.

I am agreeing with you! Data center dreams are better than alfalfa in the desert!

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. That's funny.

PA gov Shapiro banned data centers and announced a website for comments. It was then community-noted that the comment site was hosted at a data center.

Or is X making up a story about fake Chinese AI outrage to sway public opinion towards data centers, hmmm?!?

X found out about it after their contracted Chinese bot farm raised prices on them, citing demand from other sectors.

Remember when everyone went after that Utah data center promoter for claiming China was doing anti-data center psy-ops? Good times.

This was inevitable and I think the unions have a good argument here. I’m still holding to my theory that AI has a loose parallel to the machine automation of the last half century. One replaced blue collar jobs and the other is replacing white collar jobs. The white collar workers are just now finding out what it’s like to have a superior non human worker take over their livelihood…which is really what’s driving the anti-AI data center push. The anti data center protests are as dumb as the unions that protest automating things like factories or ports.
