The US faces a similar problem in Venezuela. It's not as simple as buying a piece of property and building a luxury hotel. The US will go bankrupt, as has happened with Trump businesses eleven times.

Yeah, if U.S. firms want to go in and invest the trillions needed, then I'm sure Greenland would be very open to that.

Greenland and Denmark have said no, so time to move on. Maybe we could capture all the Iranian oil.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

We will not (nor should we) go to war with Denmark over Greenland. But if we did, the war would be over in 20 minutes or so.

I don’t know what the going rate for Greenland is, but I wonder if it’s better than the rate we got when we bought:

        Louisiana territory (1803)
        Florida (1819)
Gadsen territory (1854) - as a native Arizonan, had to learn about that one in school.
        Alaska (1867)
        Philippines (1898)
Virgin Islands (1917) from Denmark no less
Water Island (1944) also from Denmark

Of course, if we don’t get a good rate we could also just annex the place or sign a mutual treaty like we did with Vermont, Texas, Oregon Territory, Hawaii and numerous other places.

That's great, let's send some pointers to the idiots in charge to act less moronic. It's not a good and it's damaging for our national security nonetheless, regardless of how funny the memes it might end up producing.

One plus is MAGA might learn a tiny bit more geography.

A current expansionist policy would be more true to the US origin story, sure. I guess we had done away with such things.

Interestingly, the United States is currently involved in multiple active territorial disputes with your beloved Canada.

Well I never. Here I thought the Pig War of ‘59 was the last one!

Agreed. I work with Danish people. They are great people but they would fold like a paper suit immediately.

IMG_0185.jpegAlthough only 10% going to 25? C’mon. He charged 60 for matters much less important than global security.

I can’t wait for the midterms. Unfortunately Trump is going to cancel them

Militarily, Denmark is no match. But financially and politically it wouldn’t just be against Denmark, it would be against all the NATO countries. Expect sanctions, embargoes, tariffs, etc.

All of Europe would do to us what we are currently doing to Russia. Who are our trade partners once we have alienated all of Europe, China, Canada, and Mexico?

Still pushing the myth that the countries pay the tariffs.
