Starts off with a lie straight from Daddy Trump's diseased mind: "For over a century, American presidents have wanted to acquire Greenland." Goes downhill from there.
Claims we aren't going to outsource national security (this is obviously a talking point, he repeats it several times during the interview). Ignores the fact that we already have substantial military presence in Greenland.
Is straight-up asked if Trump was serious about this, or if it's just a negotiating tactic. "Enhanced security is not possible without Greenland being part of the US."
The only threat to Greenland according to the EU, Denmark, and Greenland itself is from Trump. "huhuhuh we have more information huh huh." He asks, "What evidence was there that the Russians were going into Crimea?" (Yeah, he's a dumbass. Markers were pretty evident.) Claims (without sourcing) that Joe Biden said to Russia, "go ahead and take a little bit of Ukraine."
Is asked how the EU can rely on this administration's representations to form trade deals with this happening and threats of 25% tariffs. Just says that the trade deals aren't finalized, and starts talking about equilibrium with China and India. Claims that Europe can't push back against Russia. (Holy hell, this is just Putin's mouthpiece spouting off crap.)

Gets pressed on the threat to NATO's unity from Trump's absurd agression. He is just convinced the Europe will come around. She points out that the Danes have been solid military partners, but he dismisses the threat to NATO.

He dismisses the possibility of SCOTUS throwing out the tariffs, claiming that they don't interfere with "signature programs."

Moves onto the Fed. Just a lot of crap about the Fed's transparency.

    He's a moron.

Whew. I feel so much better now.

Why can't the markets just see that this is all going to be great?

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

What are the chances that Trump wants Greenland because it sounds like a nice place to live? I bet he passed on trying to get Iceland because it sounds cold.

Zero, it is populated by people of color. Trump's not cool with that.

                    Interesting take from Josh Wolfe.

The United States has decided that securing rare earth supply chains is more important than maintaining the post-war settlement with Europe.

I'm not sure Trump knows what Rare Earth Chain Supplies are.

We are also busy being locked out of African markets by the Chinese and Russians.

Essentially his point is that Trump blusters in order to settle at a more reasonable (by comparison) point. Yes, Trump's style is unique and even obnoxious, but the strategy isn't.

Also, I'm not sure there are many (I could be wrong) that think that having Greenland would be bad. Its the means by which Trump is attempting to acquire Greenland that are offensive. That seems to be the tweet's second point - that the natural resources will cover the purchase price fairly quickly. I didn't see any mention of how those resources are going to be extracted on a frozen island with no infrastructure.

Throwing away NATO to this end, while pretending to do any strategic gatekeeping of Russia's geopolitical ambitions is a hard sell. We aren't swapping out Canada, UK and Europe for alliances with Russia and China. We will be a friendless country.

Trump says he won't use force to take Greenland. Markets are reacting positively. Will we get back what we lost yesterday?

So now he's going to try to buy it? Good luck with that.

In the end I suspect we'll get some more coordinated attention to Arctic security from NATO and maybe some attention to trying to extract mineral resources (if they exist at all), all of which could have been achieved with a little old fashioned diplomatic work.

                            TACO!

Building the infrastructure to extract the minerals isn’ta problem if companies are assured their rights and contracts will be honored. But don’t we have access to a lot of rare earth minerals already in Nevada and other places? Just loosen regulations a bit and we likely don’t need Greenland

Things make more sense when you accept Trump is not rational and he doesn't things that make sense.
