One of the more surreal aspects of this is that they plopped him in county lockup in Brooklyn. Seems like something out of a bad Netflix spy series. Like it would be episode 6 when everyone complains about it going off the rails. Or a DC comic book setup. Maduro begins running the cartel from the inside and enlists the help of the inmates at Arkham. This cast could do some crazy damage.

It was casually alluded to above, but I think this has a lot to do with asylum seekers as well. If 25% of their country left, and a majority of them ended up in the US, then if the region gets stabilized and a new leader put in that will do well by the Venezuelan people...then all of those asylum seekers will be removed from the US. So I think part of the plan has to do with repatriation as well.

Venezuelan’s TPS stays has already been revoked, so their removal didn’t have any obstacles to begin with. If anything, having Venezuela temporarily at war or under martial law moght give them a path to apply for refugee status.

3. Launch military action against this organization based on the designation.

I’m the least knowledgeable person on if this whole thing is constitutional or an overall good thing. However, I work with a Venezuelan who is very accomplished and she has a lot of family still back in Venezuela. She is ecstatic about Maduro being taken out. In her words she was crying when she found out and she is still over the moon about it.
