Well, then explain it. Liberal influencers saying things the president doesn't like, is not a crime. Musk should know that. If not, his country of origin is as good an explanation as any.

Well, I said that was my speculation as to why he clearly has no respect for our Bill of Rights. Whether that is the reason or not doesn't really matter. It's still despicable that he's trying to use his influence to destroy it. We don't jail political opponents here unless there is beyond reasonable doubt proof that an actual crime was committed. As a natural born citizen I resent attempts by yahoos like him to come here and try to change that.

What if I told you one of my close friends is South African and I've discussed this with him and his parents both? Would I then be allowed to understand what apartheid was like? Or do I still need to defer to a guy who lived there for 2 years when he was 19?

Sure. However, why do you feel the need to discount the view of an American who lived there and was able to view things with a different perspective than your average Afrikaaner, Brit, Zulu, or Xhosa?
