Bonhoeffer was executed. It was the gallows I believe. I wrote some undergrad papers on him. He was really interesting.

I don't know who wrote Valkyrie but it was about a military officer who was also executed. It was too seperate failed assassination attempts. The one in Valkyrie actually had a chance at working

I believe the book is called “Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy.”

unfortuately, someone moved the briefcase with the bomb in it to a position that mitigated the explosion, if it had been left in the original position, it would have certially succeed in killing Adolf. Basically Hitler only suffered ruptured eardrums

There were several serious plots to assinate Hitler over the years, beginning before the war started

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

I began listening to book and it sounds like he did play a role in Valkyrie Plot. He was in jail at the time but was involved in the preliminary planning and was a key person in the Abwehr resistance circle that planned Valkyrie.

Because Bonhoeffer had international church connections (especially in Switzerland and Sweden), he convey messages to sympathetic foreign leaders and explored the possibility of peace terms after Hitler’s removal.

He helped the dialogue that a non-Nazi Germany would not continue the war if Hitler was gone. This diplomatic back-channeling made him part of the bigger infrastructure behind Valkyrie.

While he was not a key person, his involvement was still there and we would never have known how much more involvement he would’ve had if he was not in jail.

I plan to re-listen to this book as the beginning did not catch my interest as I had hoped and had a lot going on at the time I began to listen.

To be clear, if this truly happened, then I am sorry for his young kids:

I'm assuming that he brought up Martin and Sinatra as good examples of immigrants from approved countries?
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

Those dirty garlic-eaters are flooding our great country, bringing disease and stinking up the neighborhoods with the smell of their food. They aren't willing to assimilate or learn English. They need to stay in their rathole of a country. Imagine thinking America would be better with 5 million greaseballs.

The lack of outrage over this shit is startling.

I might spew such nonsense if I could convince people to pay me millions to do so. Not saying she believes or doesn't believe what she is saying, but she's getting paid either way.

That makes it even more despicable.

I guess, but I'm a lawyer so I get saying things you don't believe for money.
