I don’t know, maybe a class in junior high school, where a teacher says, studies show 20% of you will experience gender dysphoria. That’s ok, you are normal and you will phase out of those feelings. A small percentage of you, 2% will experience possible lifelong gender dysphoria. And an even smaller percentage of that may decide to transition to your gender preference.

All of these things are ok, and we are here to help as you go through this confusing time.

Instead we get JKR pretending she’s getting arrested and adults targeting kids who they think are trans, and politicians calling medical procedures genital mutilation.

They said they’ve never been bullied. Theyve been encouraged to take a long term and methodical approach with children experiencing gender dysphoria. They’ve never experienced any medical professional actively encouraging a child to transition.

As per the Dutch study, it’s interesting to me the conservatives are pushing a study that ‘verifies’ that’s ~2% of kids experience serious and possibly life altering gender dysphoria. Almost as if it’s a real condition!

If only we had a person with millions of followers who could help carve a healthy discourse on how to assist those kids while also helping the 18% of families who have a child that goes through some intense feelings of unease surrounding identity as opposed to pretending they will be arrested if they misgender someone.
Well that's a data point. I wonder how many data points the reporter was aggregating in her remarks this morning.

That is a very common sense and practical approach to the situation.

Which means, neither side will want anything to do with that approach.

          I agree with this approach.

I know someone with a 6-yr-old kid and they are insistent that the kid identifies as a girl and are making a huge deal out of it, making everyone use pronouns, getting the kid into supportive therapy, dressing him in girls clothes, etc. Seems like a gigantic overreaction for a kid that young.

I don’t know if you are talking about the conservatives or liberals here. Both sides love to legislate around this issue.

JKR and Elon Musks algo tricked you, it’s ok, we all know you are brilliant.

Some people shouldn’t be parents. I really don’t see much difference between that parent and the parent who beats the shit out of their kid.

              That kid is toast, awful.

I think you are vastly overestimating JL's popularity, respectfully.

I am sure fusnik's conflation of JKR and Elon Musk would make her laugh.

Personally, I can't stand Musk. But I hate Trump way more and fusnik occasionally calls me a trump supporter, so there is no reasoning with this guy.

Just the litigation that allows for the state to take the child from their parents if the parents refuse to allow their child to transition at a young age.

Interesting response to the CASS report. I don't know which side is right.

She filed a pseudonymous lawsuit challenging Florida's anti-trans Fairness in Women's Sports act. She wanted to protect her daughter. So the DeSantis-appointed school board came after her job, outed her daughter, and ruined her daughter's life.

Seems like a harsh response. But if the mom works at the high school and knowingly allowed her trans daughter to play on a girls team in direction violation of state law, what did she think would happen?
