DeSantis has already said that he would pardon Trump. So I guess you better strike him from your list.

IF An individual is willing to go after individuals or companies for exercising speech, there is no limit on what they are willing to doOriginally posted by BigFatMeanie View PostShame away.
Of the 3 currently-declared D candidates, I will vote for none of them.
Of the 8 currently-declared R candidates, I would consider voting for any of them except Trump, Perry Johnson, and Vivek, who both want to pardon Trump. I like some of Vivek's other ideas but wanting to pardon Trump is disqualifying for me. I am an unrepentant never-Trumper, never-Hillaryer, and never-Bidener..
If the election were held today and the candidates were Biden (D), pretty much any of the declared (R) candidates not named above, and various randos from various rando parties, I would probably vote for the R, which includes DeSantis. <ProgressiveLogic>Obviously this means I must agree with every action, policy, position, word, and even every thought those R candidates have.</ProgressiveLogic>
If the election were held today and the candidates were Biden (D), Trump (R), and various randos from various rando parties, I would vote for a rando or write in Mitt Romney.
If the election were held today and the candidates were some reasonably-rational-and-not-completely-batshit-crazy D, Trump (R), and various randos from various rando parties, I would consider voting D for president for the first time in my life. I have voted D for non-presidential offices but never for President.
Based on the current political climate in the USA and the general level of idiocy amongst my fellow Americans, I think the most likely outcome of all the above scenarios is that I write in Mitt.
Desantis would do anything to increase his power, just like putin (I mean he cant even bring himself to support ukraine, puppet?)

lol has new information come out since he openly punished a corporation for merely expressing dissent to one of his bills?Originally posted by Maximus View Postso ron is running to trumps right, wants to cancel the crime bill, says he wants all govt agencies to push the politics of the president
anyone going to defend him still?"I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Well you're a little late with this take, since Trumpism has coopted the Republican party. Desantis is trying to out-Trump Donald Trump. As disappointing as Biden has been, I'll stomach more disappointment rather than watch a totalitarian regime take shape.Originally posted by BigFatMeanie View PostShame away.

Christie and Pence are expected to join the GOP nomination race.

I wonder how this fits in with the IRS and how they targeted conservative leaning entities.Originally posted by Maximus View Post

lol virtue signaling? DeSantis is an authoritarian. Good to know what side you're on, Rolf.Originally posted by Shaka View PostIf DeSantis wins the primary I will vote for him. I will not be holding my nose. Whether I vote for him in the primary is up in the air.

Christie could kick some ass if he's willing to be truthy. He already messed up in the past, so I have no faith in him, but telling Trump/Desantis he's a clown to his face might be great. And he's under 80, so that's also a plus. The GOP might be too far gone, though, for someone to swoop in and get the party back on track. It's going to take years and years of losing elections and losing power to make the party change.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostChristie and Pence are expected to join the GOP nomination race.

I think people need to retire the phrase "virtue signaling." It usually just means I don't agree and I doubt your sincerity.Originally posted by Commando View Post

I'd love to hear what appeals about DeSantis to his potential supporters.
