Jon-Erik Hexum killed a guy with a prop gun several years back. There were no charges in that one either.

Yeah, the gun did it... it fired by itself and he didn't pull the trigger! There is not a jury in this country that would believe anything to the contrary.

If Baldwin does go to jail I, for one, will miss him doing his Drumpf impression on SNL.

SU, old_gregg, and I (sorry if I missed anyone) were right. This case was a joke. Charges were dropped today.

Charges against Alec Baldwin have been dropped in the fatal on-set "Rust" shooting, according to sources familiar with the matter.

I'm ready to turn the page on this whole thing. I know they want to press forward and finish the film. Not sure if that's the right thing to do.

LOL@FBI... And they said that the gun didn't fire on its own. Once again, it is shown that FBI is full of sh*t.

Well, the charges were reinstated and the trial has been going on this week. But today the judge in the case dismissed all charges, due to prosecutorial misconduct.

SANTE FE, New Mexico — In a stunning turn of events, the judge in Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter trial dismissed the case Friday, siding with defense attorneys who argued that prosecutors hid evidence about ammunition that may be linked to the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the Western movie “Rust” in 2021.

“The sanction of dismissal is the only warranted remedy” in the case, said First Judicial District Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer.

Baldwin, 66, sobbed and put his face in his hands as Sommer announced her decision.
I have maintained all along that this seemed like a case of overzealous prosecutors and he never should have been charged in the first place. But I didn't imagine that they would stoop this low.

My sister in law is a prosecutor there. She can't stand this special prosecutor because of how unethical and slimy she is. She believes there was not a valid case here but that this special prosecutor who is actually a defense lawyer pushed to try the case just to make a name for herself.

Wow. Interesting. Not surprised at all.

Would love to see her face sanctions of some sort. Or perhaps she simply has made a name for herself now.

I wonder if that’s the same one who put herself on the stand to testify in this case.
