That's the way that the Dems roll... spin everything.

But screw the "thoughts and prayers"... Dems are a bunch of religion hating, godless, heathen, commies. They hate the idea of sending prayers for other people. Keep in mind that commies like to remove religion from everything, take away peoples guns, etc.

I don't think people assumed he enjoyed that it was a fact of life before that bit was included in the reporting. Yes, it's technically a fact of life, but in only one country in the world so we know that it doesn't need to be. It's the choice of that phrase people don't like. It betrays an acceptance that this is just how things are and the usual ineffective, broad, stupid suggestions like "we have to beef up security so psycho's can't do this" are just fake solutions put forth by people who seem to never have been on a school campus.

It just plays into a narrative that repubs have put forward that "well, this has happened again" and we're limited to 1) sending thoughts and prayers, 2) making fortresses out of our schools and 3) arming the teachers. I fully agree that more must be done. I just don't believe he is serious about doing everything that needs to be done.

Sure, but what is lost in this minor correction/retraction is what else he said about gun reform. Stricter gun reform laws shouldn't even be part of the conversation since school shootings happen everywhere, even in blue states. So really he doesn't want to do everything to try to prevent them.

One step in the right direction, as was that Michigan case (I believe) where the parents were charged and convicted. A good step, but more needs to be done.

increase security JD? How many cops are there at Uvalde? How many Secret Service and local police at the Trump assassination attempt? The GOP/NRA’s solution of “more guns” is ridiculous. But I don’t expect a Ted Nugent worshipping person to agree with any of this.

One X user observed that GOP politicians would care a lot more if the school was full of embryos instead of kids.
I agree. We should do more to protect both embryos and young kids at school. All life is sacred.
