I thought it was a two stage vote that was likely to get 2/3 support for change initially, then a majority vote for statehood in the second vote. I think the first vote was going to take about a month. I don't recall what the second was going to take.

I think P.R. should be a state. I think the people of P.R. are right in trying to keep the current situation. Absent the "no taxation without representation" thing, they have it pretty good.

I understand that they don't pay federal taxes. So the mantra still applies.

Here's the deal, and someone should let Puerto Rico know, nothing is going to happen until aTm moves to the SEC and we see the fallout from that.

just because it's satire doesn't mean there's not an obligation to avoid affirmatively misrepresenting stuff. not saying that happened here, but dismissing bad journalism as entertainment seems weak

OK, so if he failed his journalistic obligation (whatever that should be in this instance) please share so I have the opportunity to be appropriately outraged.
