Yet another anecdote of those on the left leaning more to the violent side of life, eh?

You're saying that I attack those who don't agree with me. Probably a fair statement. Yet you are silent about those on the left who attack others who disagree with them. Why?
Actually, I'm not silent on attacks from the left. PETA throwing buckets of blood on people, ELF burning up housing developments, Olbermann calling people "The Worst Person in the World" are all part of the problem. I'm not a fan of MSNBC, and I'm not a fan of Fox News either.

I wouldn't be shocked to find that a study of relationships between media, media content, and violence found "dogmatism" to be an important variable, and regardless of people being liberal or conservative.
We all trust our own unorthodoxies.

      Fair enough.

I would like to see an unbiased study that you mention. It would be interesting to see what would be learned.

I think we all owe SIEQ tuition fees for his commentary in this thread.

I don't want to know how he interprets my current avatar!

I based my comment that those who were throwing rocks and bottles at the Neo-Nazis are on the left from other protests that have had violence occur, such as the riots in Copenhagen during the climate summit, the Democrats Convention in Denver back in the 60s, the attack of a black man by the SEIU thugs at a tea party gathering, etc.

The Neo-nazis are certainly a threat against peace, but the threats by the left are ignored by the media. My question is why?
I don't think anyone is ignoring the violence of the left when it happens. There was much media coverage when the McMansions up in Seattle were targeted by Earth First. Same with the car dealership vandalism in Oregon a few years ago.

I think the reason why it may seem, like you say, that there is no media coverage of the Left's violence is the difference in magnitude of the attacks. Not to say that one type of violence is better than another. But you said yourself, on one hand we're dealing with rocks and bottles, on the other its crashing airplanes into IRS buildings and Oklahoma City bombings. Which one do you think should get more news coverage?

My original post was that Clinton is calling the Tea Party groups the same as Timothy McVeigh. Thanks for backing me up there. Why didn't Clinton talk about his administration's raid on Waco two years before the Oklahoma City bombing?

As for which is more newsworthy, isn't any attack on any group something that should be covered? You're now playing the kind of games that some of the extreme left on this site play.

I haven't read the article and highly doubt that I will. He may very well be implying, as you say, that the tea party groups are akin to McVeigh. Does he, or has he ever, said that the Tea Party is a violent movement? If so, then those claims are unfounded at this point, as there has been no violent rhetoric or acts that I am aware of, aside from some racial slurs at some party rallies.

What I think the left sees (and I'm not sure if you would consider me part of the left or not) is an anti-big government movement that is growing at an incredible pace. And if recent history has shown us anything about those with a strong anti-government sentiment it is that a few, extreme individuals are capable of pulling off some incredibly heinous acts in the name of patriotism. Honestly, there is some fear that it may happen again.

Where the hell was Bill Clinton when plays/books were being written about George W. Bush being assassinated? I think you're reaching if you think Clinton isn't trying to imply some kind of connection between the two. Clinton is a genius politician, the best of our lifetimes besides Reagan and he knows exactly what he's doing which is marginalize the Tea Party movement by implying that they're in line with Timothy McVeigh type nut jobs. It's a helluva lot more effective than the Obama strategy of saying the Tea Party doesn't have anything to complain about because most of them aren't paying more taxes in his administration.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Many on the political left like to connect McVeigh to the Tea Party movement based on the t-shirt he was wearing:

Actually, the tea partiers seem rather mild compared to some of the more left partiers. See, for example, Zombie Time. (WARNING: Most likely NOT SAFE TO VIEW AT WORK or while eating.)

Thanks for that link Uncle Ted.

As has been asked in this thread, where was the outrage at Bush being called Hitler?

McVeigh had ties to anti-tax folks and the JBS. It doesn't mean all members of those groups are racist, but some do wind up into neo-nazism after exploring the militia movement etc. Bo gritz got along fine with the nazis in hayden lake.
I don't think this should be a matter of leftists or rightists are evil because of some people associated with them.
I don't think conservatives need to apologize for mcveigh nor do liberals need to apologize for earth first or the ALF.
But groups on the fringes need to police themselves from dangerous extremists regardless of political strain.

At first I thought Sting was giving some legitimacy to the Tea Party by calling this a "Green Tea Party" movement.. But then he had to throw in a "real" Tea Party movement..

Anyway interesting interview... Talks about a Full Global Govt on this..

                              Excuse me?

I remember when Clinton blamed conservative talk radio for the Oklahoma City bombing. He was wrong then and he's wrong now. The Tea Party folks are not a violent group.

If any side is going to resort to violence, it's going to be the left, as evidenced by the attacks on the scum Neo-Nazi group that was protesting in LA over the weekend.

When will the left get it? They are the violent ones, not the Tea Party folks. Clinton and his ilk are apparently too arrogant to recognize who the real problems are in this county.
Were their any recorded instances of throwing stuff at police or threatening violence by the Tea Partiers? Contrast that to the illegal immigration supporters. Who is a bigger threat to our peace and tranquility?
