But right now they don't even have theaters to place it in if they wanted to.
The longer this goes on, the more free pub the film will get. I think a post-holiday release would be great timing for a show that was probably going to flounder at the pre-Christmas box office.

"Can you imagine the outcry if North Korean released, Get Obama, about the assassination of a sitting president," asks Douglas Thomas, associate professor of communication at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

"It's amazing that this even got green-lit," Carman adds. "Wow, nothing's really changed. This is still a white male, Western-centric view of a small Asian nation."
What a dumbass. NK makes movies like that all the time. Nobody cares.

I agree with JL - if I was Sony I would be putting this out to the world for free. Youtube, Amazon, Hulu, you name it. Those folks might not want to take it - if they're concerned about getting hacked themselves. And if that's the case, maybe Sony just puts it up on their own site for people to watch and/or download.

On another note - how the hell does a country that doesn't even have electricity for the majority of its citizens, much less a computer in the home for kids to hone hacking skills on and discover who has that innate ability to be good at it, come up with a hacker who can outdo Sony?!? That's crazy.
This is what I read yesterday:

North Korea experts say the country has spent its scarce resources on building up a unit called "Bureau 121" to carry out cyber attacks.

Dear Sony Hackers: now that u run Hollywood, I'd also like less romantic comedies, fewer Michael Bay movies and no more Transformers.

Comments on that site are kind of funny/scary.

Sony should put the movie on youtube and every other video sharing site for free. Something to ensure widest distribution possible.
